Cape Wrath
Snowblood Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Both setting out for the last time
See white death dancing on the shore
I don't know what I'll find
But I know what I'm leaving behind
It ends here on the coast
Cape wrath
The song Cape Wrath by Snowblood tells a story of two people who are embarking on a journey towards the sea, knowing that it is to be their last. The haunting lyrics conjure up an image of death dancing on the shore, creating an atmosphere of foreboding and inevitability. Although the singer of the song does not know what they will find when they reach their destination, they do know what they are leaving behind, implying a sense of regret and longing for what has been lost.
The finality of the journey is emphasized in the closing lines, where the lyrics state that it all ends on the coast and that it is over for another year. This can be interpreted in different ways - as a literal ending of a physical journey, or perhaps as a metaphor for the passage of time and the cyclical nature of life.
Overall, Cape Wrath is a powerful and emotive song that explores themes of mortality, loss and nostalgia, all set against a haunting and atmospheric backdrop of the sea.
