Kali
Snowblood Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
Kali, entropy
Kali, entropy
Kali, entropy
I bring a secret that you don't want to hear
I bring the news from the other side
Our creator is our destroyer!
Kali, entropy
Kali, entropy
Kali
In this song, Snowblood talks about Kali, who is a Hindu goddess of destruction and chaos. The word "entropy" is used to describe the state of chaos in which Kali operates. The opening lyrics repeat Kali and entropy, possibly emphasizing that they are both different yet regaled forces of destruction. Snowblood goes on to say that she has news from the other side, hinting that Kali's destruction may have come from a journey from the beyond.
In the next verse, Snowblood reveals that Kali is "our mother" and "our creator" but, at the same time, she is "our killer" and "our destroyer." This portrayal of Kali suggests that she is a paradoxical figure who is both nurturing and destructive. As a result, the song becomes an observation through the viewpoint that the creation process, in and of itself, holds the seed of destruction within it.
The song speaks of serious themes but puts them in an interesting way by using mythology and symbolism to convey the message. The symbolism of the Hindi goddess of destruction mirrors the ominous undertones of a cryptic message delivered by Snowblood.
