Formed late in 1998, Solabeat Alliance's sound was a reflection of their travels to the sunshine lands, combined with a thirst for rock. SBA drew influences from Caribbean culture through to Calypso Ska and Punk Rock. In the summer of 2002 The 'Alliance' hit the road for their longest ever headline tour playing over 70 shows including the Sound Club in Leicester Square, winning the National Battle of the Bands and getting signed to Moon Ska Europe.
Solabeat Alliance are:
* Tim - Vocals
* Paul - Guitar
* Dan - Bass
* Oli - Drums
* Rick - Saxophone
* John - Trombone
* Jeremy - Trumpet
To coincide with their support on the Nov / Dec 2002 Spunge tour, Solabeat Alliance, then known as Spankboy, released the 'Rise on Up' EP, featuring two old favourites from the now sold out 'Adventures in Blue Flash' EP, 'Tongue Tied' and 'Perfect Day', and two newer cuts 'Set it Off' and 'Summer Nights'. This 'Rise On Up' EP went down a treat on the now legendary 'Over The Moon Tour 2003', a tour featuring Solabeat Alliance as main support for Whitmore.
Since then, the band lost a bassist before spending what seemed like 3 years in the studio, working on what was rumoured to be "one of the most sensational albums ever" in the making·backed up of course with some low-key gigs to give us a taste of what's to come. With a little help from a certain Phil Johnstone producer of Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant, the album "Island Fire" was eventually finished and released in March 2004.
The end of 2003 saw Solabeat Alliance supporting NY Ska legends The Toasters, and fellow American Acoustic-Ska artist Chris Murray, on tour in the UK followed shortly by the Moon Ska Europe All Dayer "Lift Off Into 2004" at the london Carling Academy Islington.
Dusk Till Dawn
Solabeat Alliance Lyrics

Standing here right on the edge of earth,
Burning high with feelings we can lean on,
All of this is of the greatest worth
Don't you be no stranger,
Do you remember,
12 long hours ago?
Stolen hours in moonlight,
We take warning,
Stars reflect in dialated eyes,
Slow down, yes a new day is dawning,
This feeling lingers through the night,
Don't you be no stranger,
Do you remember,
12 long hours ago?
Don't shoot me down
The lyrics to Solabeat Alliance's "Dusk Till Dawn" encapsulate the feeling of freedom, standing on the edge of earth, and burning with emotions that can be relied upon. The idea of open hearts and rhapsodies of freedom speaks to the idea of letting go of inhibitions and embracing the beauty and wonder of the world.
The chorus makes reference to remembering the past, specifically 12 long hours ago, and not shooting down or rejecting the present moment. The next verse speaks of stolen hours in moonlight, possibly referring to moments of clandestine and passionate encounters. The stars reflect in dilated eyes, emphasizing the intensity of the feelings being experienced, and a new day dawning suggests the possibility of renewal and hope.
Overall, the song could be interpreted as a celebration of living in the present moment, grasping hold of fleeting emotions, and cherishing the connection between two individuals. The lyrics convey a sense of urgency to embrace the present and to live life in a spontaneous and authentic way.
