There's A Universe
Solarstone Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
There is one that shines with brighter light
It′s so far away, I can't explain
So if our constellations don′t collide
That's fine... there's a universe out there
And if the stars won′t lead you to the grail
As the planet revolves around a billion souls
Are still searching for gold, something sacred to hold
But we′re trying so hard we don't get very far
It′s the tiniest grain that will nourish again
But it's so far away, I can′t explain
So if our constellations don't collide
That's fine... there′s a universe out there
And if the stars won′t lead you to the grail
Exhale... 'cause the universe don′t mind
There's a universe out there
The lyrics to Solarstone's "There's a Universe" explore the vastness of the universe and the limitations of human understanding. The song is imbued with a sense of wonder and awe as the singer gazes upon the stars at night and marvels at the one that shines with a brighter light. Despite its brilliance, it remains too far away to be fully explained or understood. The singer reflects on the search for something sacred, something to nourish and sustain us, but acknowledges that this quest is often frustratingly elusive. However, the song offers a glimmer of hope in the idea that the universe is vast and mysterious, and our inability to grasp it fully is not a cause for despair, but rather an invitation to contemplate its vastness and complexity.
Throughout the song, there is a sense of humility and reverence for the natural world. The constant refrain of "there's a universe out there" reinforces the idea that we are but a small part of something much greater than ourselves. The paradoxical nature of our relationship to the universe is also highlighted, as we strive to uncover its secrets even as we remain forever limited by our human perspective.
Overall, the lyrics to "There's a Universe" are a powerful meditation on the mysteries of the cosmos, the human condition, and the intersection between the two.
