Dogs
Solid I.V. Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Running with our tongues out like stray hound dogs
Riding an eternal train like rolling stones
The sound of hell raising yeah it keeps us alive
The sense of having ourselves a motherflashing night time
Won't you follow us, won't you explode tonight?
Tell me baby it's not just a fuckin' fright
Won't you come with us, won't you gain your prize?
Tell me baby it's all not drifting away
So we're sitting at the bar "leather-jacketed-men-of ice"
Ready to get mean, ready to get fucking high
Nostrils move, our preys smell so damn great
Time to show some blazing guns and Elvis shakes
Won't you follow us, won't you explode tonight?
Tell me baby it's not just a fuckin' fright

Won't you come with us, won't you gain your prize?
Tell me baby it's all not drifting away

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Solid I.V.'s song "Dogs" can be seen as a commentary on poverty, hunger, and the lengths people will go to survive. The first verse describes the singer's upbringing on a farm where they could only afford to eat dog food. This is a striking image, as dogs are typically seen as pets and companions, not a source of sustenance. The second verse suggests that the singer still eats dog food as an adult, but only because they dislike other healthy foods like eggplant and brussel sprouts. This could be interpreted as the singer's continued struggle with poverty or personal preferences.

The chorus suggests that dog food is a versatile and nutritious food option that can be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of age or gender. The sarcastic tone of the chorus suggests that the singer is fully aware of the ridiculousness of the idea that dog food could be a desirable food item. The inclusion of specific brands of dog food like Alpo, Kibble, and Purina adds to the absurdity of the lyrics.

Overall, "Dogs" is a satirical song that uses the image of dog food to comment on larger issues like hunger, poverty, and societal expectations around food choices.

Can we take a minute to respect whoever added subtitles for a 7-hour video

@hammerbro1947

I respect that. Looks professional looking too. :) Couldn't be the only one who done the captions.

@Derf360

Respect granted mate. They even get two salutes from big boss snake and one from old snake.

Dakota Thompson Hey man..is MGS phantom ghost as good as this game..I’m only asking you because you’re the most recent comment i see

@thepurist8353

@@kingdrosive4102 definitely. Cheap as well.

@randomgayguyman

@@kingdrosive4102 phantom pain. And no, I don't regard it as a metal gear game as such. It's incomplete, and playing the game will give you literal phantom pain, because of how awful it is, story wise. Gameplay is like an extremely in depth far cry, but the story is awful. Which is ridiculous for a metal gear game.

I love how every time something seemingly goes wrong for the antagonists in an MGS game, it’s always “part of the plan”

@PrincessTwilightdash

Jon Bourgoin I mean it sorta is

@theoneitself

Jon Bourgoin Metal gear is basically anime turned into a videogame

@tahamohammad8842

It’s kind of a problem because if just one thing happened to snake or raiden(in the case of sons of Liberty) then the entire plan would have failed completely.
