The early Soliloquium releases were classic death/doom metal music, influenced by early Katatonia, Paradise Lost and October Tide. Time saw the band getting more experimental, incorporating elements from genres like shoegaze, post-rock and progressive rock. The band got signed and released debut full-length "An Empty Frame" in 2016 on U.S. label Transcending Records. The second album "Contemplations" came out in 2018.

Unfulfilling Prophecy
Soliloquium Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The nine hour surge reveals a deprecated self
Arranged a life for watching eyes, weary soul's confine
This material construction, a flawed comfort
Lifelong disappointments brew below the polished surface
In ice cold dependency to a desperate routine
A lethargy of senses for you know tomorrow (will be the same)
How can you master the role of a machine?
Drone through waking hour with blind belief
How can you master the role of a machine?
Perfecting the same pattern in monday morning fallacy
Eyes set to the task, desensitized
Is this your dream? Common monotony
An idle overseer of necessary evils
Glance no further, the flair of the moment is gone
Waking hour, glory askew
All that's been lost and won
Was it all for show?
Was it all for nothing?
This monumental sacrifice
The lyrics to Soliloquium's song "Unfulfilling Prophecy" describe the feeling of being stuck in a mundane routine and feeling unfulfilled with one's life. The first few lines paint a picture of exhaustion and feeling trapped in a life that has been arranged for the sake of others. The singer feels as though they are in a material construction that offers flawed comfort but does not bring any true happiness or satisfaction.
The second paragraph delves deeper into the singer's feelings of disappointment and frustration. They feel as though they are dependent on their routine and are unable to escape it. The repetition of perfecting the same pattern only emphasizes the monotony of the singer's life, as they feel like nothing is changing despite their efforts.
The final paragraph questions the purpose of all this hard work and sacrifice. Did the singer do it all for show or was it all for nothing? The feeling of unfulfillment is palpable and the singer wonders if their sacrifices have truly been worth it.
Overall, the lyrics to "Unfulfilling Prophecy" are a commentary on the human experience of feeling trapped in a cycle of monotony and questioning the value of one's hard work and sacrifices.
