Having not one, but two female lead singers in Christine from Luxembourg/Denmark and Angel from Nigeria backed up by experienced musicians, South Haven is nowhere near your standard rock band. That special mix between Angels soulful vocals and Christine's raw emotional power gives the band an edge that is needed in female fronted rock music.
The producers working on this album from the get-go is something else. Jacob Hansen and Martin Pagaard (Volbeat, Amaranthe), Christoffer Stjerne (HERO), Chris Kreutzfeldt (CABAL, Ghost Iris, MØL) and Mirza Radonjica-Bang (Siamese, Helhorse) have all joined forces with the band in creating a debut album that surely will turn heads in all of Europe.
Their first single, Dancing In Nightmares, is a perfect example of what's to come from the talented bunch. A groovy and intense track with a chorus that will hit you harder than an NFL tackle. It's as infectious as it is powerful. According to Christine Fisker Nielsen:
“The song is about being in a relationship with someone who you so badly want to be with, but you’ve come to realize that you are just too different.”
South Haven is a product of the successful #NEXTGEN project started by Prime Collective, having the band perfecting their songwriting for almost three years before releasing anything. The co-producer and CEO of Prime Collective Mirza Radonjica elaborates:
“It was very important for me to find a unique formula with South Haven. A project that will stand out, but also deliver some really good songs. Spending 3 years in a studio can be tough, and it sure has been, but I could not be prouder of the results. South Haven is ready for the world

And I know that I'm not okay
I'm rolling out, facing the mirror
Tell me am I going insane?
Are my feet above the ground?
I'm...
Feeling that flavor of silver
I never wanna leave the pain,
it's all that I have to remember your name
And I, can't let go, so I, need to know, if you'll be coming home
Feels like a pain that tears my heart
Makes me shatter, it feels like a knife when it...
It's a pain that tears my heart
Take it easy on me
Don't know where to go, left without a home
Broken tears, nothing left, skinned to the bone
As it tears my heart
I felt that you were waiting in the mirror
I heard someone was calling your name
And what you said is now becoming clearer
I doesn't feel like it was in vain
I can feel that you're around
Now the glass is breaking to pieces
And it's getting harder to breathe
I don't wanna be insane
It's eating me up and it wraps me in chains
And I, can't let go, so I, need to know, if you'll be coming home
Feels like a pain that tears my heart
Makes me shatter, it feels like a knife when it...
It's a pain that tears my heart
Take it easy on me
Don't know where to go, left without a home
Broken tears, nothing left, skinned to the bone
I was never giving up on you
Never let go
I won't let go
But I feel my mind is slipping too
Never let go
I must let gooooo
Feels like a pain that tears my heart
Makes me shatter, it feels like a knife when it...
It's a pain that tears my heart
Take it easy on me
Don't know where to go, left without a home
Broken tears, nothing left, skinned to the bone
As it tears my heart
The lyrics of the song "Torn in 2" by South Haven describe the aftermath of a tumultuous relationship. The singer wakes up with a fever, feeling physically ill from the pain of heartbreak. He is alone and facing himself in the mirror, questioning his sanity and wondering if he has lost touch with reality. The pain of the breakup is so strong that he feels like he is being held captive by it, unable to let it go because it is the only thing he has left to hold onto. He longs for the return of his partner and pleads with them to come home. The pain of heartbreak is likened to a knife cutting through his heart, leaving him broken and feeling like he has nowhere to go. The chorus repeats this feeling of being torn apart, begging for mercy and asking for some form of relief from the pain.
As the song continues, the singer believes that his former partner is still with him in some way. He sees them in the mirror and hears their voice calling out to him. He finds some comfort in this connection, but it is tenuous and fragile. He becomes consumed by the pain, feeling like he is now wrapped in chains and unable to escape. He repeats his plea for his partner to come back to him, but he knows he needs to let go. He is torn between holding on and moving on, struggling to find the strength to move forward.
The lyrics of "Torn in 2" are a raw and emotional description of the pain of heartbreak. The singer is honest about the difficulty of letting go of a relationship even after it has ended. He struggles with his own sanity and the reality of his situation. The pain is described in visceral terms, emphasizing the intensity of his emotions.
