Just walked down the street to the coffee shop
I took a break and walked down the street to the coffee shop.

Had to take a break
I needed a pause from what I was going through.

I'd been by her side for eighteen hours straight

Saw a flower growing in the middle of the sidewalk
I noticed a flower growing out of the concrete pavement.

Pushing up through the concrete
It looked like the flower was overcoming a challenging situation.

Like it was planted right there for me to see
It felt like the flower was there for a reason and I was meant to see it.

The flashin' lights, the honkin' horns
The noisy surroundings.

All seemed to fade away
The noise from the surroundings became less noticeable.

In the shadow of that hospital at 5:08
I was at the hospital.

I saw God today
I experienced a moment that made me feel the presence of God.

I've been to church
I have attended a place of worship.

I've read the book
I have read the religious book.

I know He's here, but I don't look
I believe that God exists, but I don't always recognize His presence.

Near as often as I should
I don't take enough time to reflect on God's presence.

His fingerprints are everywhere
There are signs of God's presence all around us.

I just slow down to stop and stare
I need to take time to appreciate the moments that bring me closer to God.

Opened my eyes and man I swear
I was struck by a realization.

Saw a couple walking by they were holding hands
I saw a couple walking and holding hands.

Man, she had that glow
The woman looked radiant.

Yeah I couldn't help but notice she was starting to show
I observed that the woman was pregnant.

Stood there for a minute takin' in the sky
I took a moment to appreciate the scenery.

Lost in that sunset
I became absorbed in the beautiful sunset.

A splash of amber melted into shades of red
The sunset colors were gorgeous.

Got my face pressed up against the nursery glass
I was looking through a window at a newborn baby.

She's sleeping like a rock
The baby was sound asleep.

My name on her wrist, wearing tiny pink socks
The baby had bracelets with my name on them and wore pink socks.

She's got my nose, she's got her mama's eyes
The baby had physical features of both me and her mother.

My brand new baby girl
I have a newborn baby daughter.

She's a miracle
The birth of my daughter is a special, awe-inspiring event.

I saw God today
My experience with the newborn baby made me feel the presence of God.
