Losin' little parts of me
Because you're a fever and I keep
Losin' limbs, you're out of reach
And it's just so unappealing
When you're clingin' to the ceiling
Just to dance around your feelings
Sever up my body
Sew it up to stop me
'Cause I need surgery to keep me blurry
So you like to hurt me
Could you cut me dirty?
'Cause I need surgery to keep me blurry
Electro-shock therapy
Zombie-version, tryna feed
You're my melancholy medicine
Love me 'cause I'm lonely, please
And it's just so unappealing
When you're clingin' to the ceiling
Just to dance around your feelings
Oh well, oh well
Sever up my body
Sew it up to stop me
'Cause I need surgery to keep me blurry
So you like to hurt me
Could you cut me dirty?
'Cause I need surgery to keep me blurry
Clutchin' weapons while we're sleepin'
Got me bleedin' like I mean it
It's just enough to keep me blurry
Sever up my body
Sew it up to stop me
'Cause I need surgery to keep me blurry
So you like to hurt me
Could you cut me dirty?
'Cause I need surgery to keep me blurry
'Cause I need surgery to keep me blurry
'Cause I need surgery to keep me blurry
The song "Blurry" by Stand Atlantic is about a toxic and abusive relationship that is slowly deteriorating the singer's mental and emotional state. The opening lines, "Like a botched lobotomy, Losin' little parts of me" suggests that the singer is losing bits and pieces of their identity and personality in the relationship. The partner is compared to a fever that is causing the singer to lose limbs, which can be interpreted as them losing control and their ability to make decisions for themselves.
The singer then describes the relationship as unappealing, and their partner as someone who clings to the ceiling and dances around their feelings instead of facing them head-on. The metaphor of needing surgery to keep themselves blurry refers to the singer's desire to numb their pain and avoid confronting the reality of the situation. They'd rather remain in a state of blurriness so that they don't have to face the hurtful truth.
The chorus of the song continues this metaphor of needing surgery to keep themselves blurry. The singer pleads for their partner to "sever up [their] body, sew it up to stop [them]" which can be interpreted as the idea that the singer wants to be cut up and stitched back together in the hopes that the stitches will hide their scars from the relationship. They ask to be cut dirty, again referring to the idea of wanting to remain blurry and numb.
Overall, "Blurry" is a powerful song that highlights the impact an abusive relationship can have on someone's mental and emotional health. It serves as a reminder that it's important not to lose ourselves in toxic relationships and to prioritize our wellbeing.

These guys will have a long career. They've already really learned their own sound and utilize the strengths of their members really well. Bonnie's voice is killer and whoever is doing the mixing of it is killing it. Freaking love this band!
