In 2000, after living in New Hampshire, he moved back down to Massachusetts to enroll in the audio production program at Boston's New England Institute of the Arts. That same year, Selektah started putting out mixtapes, namely his Spell My Name Right series. With his mixtapes and DJ gigs, Selektah never passed up the opportunity to champion local hip-hop from Boston and the surrounding New England area. In particular, Selektah was responsible for introducing fellow Lawrence, MA, native Termanology to the world, helming his Hood Politics mixtapes in the mid- to late 2000s. Managing all of these tasks became much easier when he established in 2003 his own PR/marketing firm ShowOff.
In 2006, he turned ShowOff Records into an official record label, with Termanology & Producer DC's Out the Gate LP as its first release. By this time, though, Selektah's prestige had grown considerably. His radio shows were playing in several places, from London to Mobile, AL; he produced beats for many artists, including Foxy Brown, AZ, and Joell Ortiz; and most importantly, the DJ dished out tons of mixtapes with big name and up-and-coming artists, such as Nas, Q-Tip, John Legend, Royce da 5'9" (The Bar Exam, co-hosted with DJ Premier), and Saigon.
Statik dropped his first LP, Spell My Name Right in 2007, and his follow up Stick 2 the Script album in 2008. Other artists he has produced for following that include Talib Kweli, Bun B, Styles P, Consequence, Freeway, M.O.P., and Jadakiss. Rockstar games reached out for Statik in late 2008 to enlist him as DJ and producer of the Grand Theft Auto IV update "the Lost and Damned", as well as 2 songs for Midnight Club: Los Angeles.
In March 2008, Selektah and Saigon recorded All In A Day's Work in a 24 hour period, and was acclaimed by critics. He also DJed for Q-tip on his 2009 Renassaince World Tour. Statik just dropped his third studio album, 100 Proof: The Hangover on Showoff/Brick Records.
In 2010 Statik Selektah released his fourth album, Population Control, on Duck Down Records to critical acclaim boasting features from a mix of up and coming MC's and well established veterans.
Statik's fifth album, Extended Play, was released on June 18, 2013, and features Joey Bada$$, Action Bronson, Raekwon, Sean Price, Mac Miller, Black Thought, Noreaga, Lecrae, Lil' Fame, Styles P, Mike Posner, Termanology, Freddie Gibbs, Bun B, Joell Ortiz, Posdnuos of De La Soul, Talib Kweli, Troy Ave., Hit-Boy, Smif-N-Wessun, Flatbush Zombies, and many many more.

Playing through the broken ankles, man
Never sit down, cause I'ma stand up
Yo book a ticket to the tropics cause I'm through with all the shit
That I'm living every day, in the mirror saying why me?
Hide my eyes cause I'm sickened with the image
Abusing marijuana, sipping vintage for the time being
Spit a wild rap, carve a steak right off the cow's back
Throw it on the grill, I'm cooking in the stew
Same shit that's on the grill gave me leather for the boot
If they make me take the stand then I'm lying through my teeth though
Ask to swear to God but in that I don't believe though
My man Stevie Mo playing safety for Toledo
Hustle 'til my fingers staying cheesy like a cheeto
Shorty on the bed pleasuring my pee pee
Smart crew TCN, lyrical graffiti
Drug roll precise, like a hooker with the dice
Butcher with the knife, you get tooken for your life
So much to say it's so little time and shitty
Killer Queens the borough, New York be the city
Coming crazy out your mouth will get your split up like a philly
Running through the maze like I'm Willie, you gotta feel me
I'm moving forward cause nothing's gonna be the same
Eyes blurry from the smoke, I can't see the lane
Swerving heavy, bottle in my lap
I'm looking for a problem so I'm modeling the gat
Somebody save me, cause I don't wanna go to jail
I'd rather be up in the mansion for the Polo sale
But I'm here, stuck inside my thoughts
I'm tryna have a bag of money stuffed inside my shorts
My life is like a movie, Blizzard with the shottie
Hookah house or Rosie chilling in the lobby
Yes I'm living gnarly, the 40 ounce of Barley
Open up cigars and fill 'em with a bunch of Marley
Double cut porterhouse straight from Luger's
Ruger for intruders hand to hand made by the duelers
Ginger ale in Knick's glasses, your style is piss mothafucka
Time to flip the mattress, kick it swift as Cassius
My mind is stronger than Mariusz Pudzianows
Obvious to see I'm a star straight off the couch
You rapping with a blouse, you get slapped up side the mouth
By the Zangief look-a-like, Bronson always cooking right
Spray the vinegar to tighten up a yummy
Smoking got me squinting like the sky is high and sunny
Attachment on the nozzle make the iron fire funny
Never stop until my body diving in a pile of money
I'm moving forward cause nothing's gonna be the same
Eyes blurry from the smoke, I can't see the lane
Swerving heavy, bottle in my lap
I'm looking for a problem so I'm modeling the gat
Somebody save me, cause I don't wanna go to jail
I'd rather be up in the mansion for the Polo sale
But I'm here, stuck inside my thoughts
I'm tryna have a bag of money stuffed inside my shorts
I'm already smoking like a gunshot
You know the fuzzy light green, call it Dunlop, flow nun's twat
Many hours, one man standing, one spot
From the morning to the mothafuckin' sun drop
Cause I'm one with the Earth, eyes red
Mothafucka I've been blunted since birth, age 9
Mom dukes kept the gun in the purse, next to the hair spray
Fuck tomorrow, money coming in the fast way
I'm moving forward cause nothing's gonna be the same
Eyes blurry from the smoke, I can't see the lane
Swerving heavy, bottle in my lap
I'm looking for a problem so I'm modeling the gat
Somebody save me, cause I don't wanna go to jail
I'd rather be up in the mansion for the Polo sale
But I'm here, stuck inside my thoughts
I'm tryna have a bag of money stuffed inside my shorts
(We never talk there was a time when there wasn't enough words to say)
In the song "Not Enough Words" by Statik Selektah, the artist talks about living life on the edge and hustling to make money. From the opening lines, Selektah tells the listener that his ankles may be broken, but he's never going to sit down, indicating that he's always on the move. He talks about booking a ticket to the tropics to get away from the daily struggles of his life and the desire to have money without having to risk going to jail. He paints a vivid picture of someone who is always hustling, looking for an opportunity to make a quick buck, "somebody save me, cause I don't wanna go to jail, I'd rather be up in the mansion for the Polo sale." The way he structures the verses, with quick wordplay and complex rhymes, showcases his skills as a rapper and his ability to tell a story.
Throughout the song, Statik Selektah uses metaphors and similes to describe his life. For instance, he compares himself to a hooker when he talks about his drug roll being precise like a hooker with the dice. He also talks about moving forward, despite everything, because nothing will ever be the same. His life is like a movie, and he's the star of the show. He's always looking for something, whether it's a problem to solve or a bag of money to stuff inside his shorts. By the end of the song, Statik Selektah leaves the listener with the impression that he's a survivor who will keep hustling and moving forward, no matter what.
