Fresh Air
Stay-C Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

This is a story all about how
My life got flipped, turned upside down
cnd I'd like to take a minute just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the fresh prince of a bel-air

Turn around the corner I was out I was out
Gotta get my glock, gotta get my glock get my glock
Duck run hide Scream & Shout (caaah)
Duck run hide scream & shout (caaah)
Know these bullets come with clout (bah bah bah)
Know these bullets come with clout (bah bah bah)

West Philadelphia born and raised
On the playground where I spend most of my days
Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool
Shooting some b-ball outside of the school
When a couple of guys, they were up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighborhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
Said, 'You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-air"

When I went home I got caught
Now I gotta get to buss'n is my first thought
Magazine fell out i just bought,
Now i got to hop out the car i just fought
Took a couple to the leg i can still walk
Stumbling rumbling im out runn'n em
Im gun'n em dey crumbling
Stomach still grumbling
I hit em in the mouf now he mumbling

Ba ba ba now he dead....
Ba ba ba now he dead
Ba ba ba now they dead
Ba ba ba now they dead

This is a story all about how
My life got flipped, turned upside down
I'd like to take a minute just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the fresh prince of bel-air

Ba ba ba now he dead....
Ba ba ba now he dead
Ba ba ba now they dead
Ba ba ba now they dead

I whistled for a cab and when it came near
License plate said fresh and had dice in the mirror
If anything I could say this that cab was rare
But I thought nah, forget it, yo homes to bel-air
I pulled up to the house about seven or eight
I yelled to the cabby yo homes smell you later
Looked at my kingdom I was finally there
To sit on my throne fresh prince of bel-air

Ba ba ba now he dead
Ba ba ba now he dead

Ba ba ba now they dead
Ba ba ba now they dead

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Stay-C's song "Fresh Air" tell the story of the artist's journey from a troubled neighborhood to finding success and happiness in a new environment. The song references the famous theme song of the TV show "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" and incorporates elements of storytelling and personal experiences.

The opening lines, "This is a story all about how, my life got flipped, turned upside down," set the stage for the narrative. Stay-C describes the struggles and dangers he faced in his neighborhood, as indicated by the lines, "Gotta get my glock, gotta get my glock get my glock, Duck run hide Scream & Shout." He paints a picture of fear and violence, emphasizing the need to protect oneself.

The lyrics then shift to a reminiscence of his upbringing in West Philadelphia and the challenges he encountered there. He mentions spending time on the playground and engaging in recreational activities like playing basketball. However, trouble soon arises in his neighborhood, leading to a fight that alarms his mother and ultimately results in his relocation to Bel-Air.

The latter half of the song details Stay-C's transformation and success. He whistles for a cab, referencing the iconic Fresh Prince theme song, and arrives in Bel-Air. Finally, he proudly claims his newfound position as the "fresh prince" of Bel-Air, symbolizing his achievement and growth.

This is DOPE, it's great to see music from the up-and-coming generation that doesn't fall into those jump up or foghorn styles which seem so popular amongst the younger folks. Massive props, this is wicked and sounds very futuristic.

Stay-C

Thank you so much for your support! It really means a lot 😀
