halt the breaks on the Herbert Hype! the huge problem here is the Bears are significantly better with Monty and not Herbert. the passing game, especially, is much more adept. all Herbert does is deliver one big play per game, but unfortunately aside from a tad more explosiveness, Herbert is NOT a better overall runner nor is his role facilitating the passing attack even close to Monty

proof?

aside from the niners game in a deluge when Herbert's legs were tons more fresh for that FINAL drive AND the Texans game where any RB could hang 20+ FF Pts, here are the results:

vs GB: CHI 4 trips to RZ, Monty-led drives ALL 4 trips

vs MINN: CHI 5 trips, Monty-led drives ALL 5 trips

vs Wash: CHI 4 trips, Monty-led 3 of the 4, with Herbert getting that long run on a perfectly executed play call.

vs NE: Herbert-led pts: 7
Monty 19.

the final TD drive they BOTH split.

now, they rotate every other drive for context and fairness between comparing the two.

so, of course they limit each other's FF prowess, but Chicago wants to be successful on offense.

Monty is the better overall runner whereas Herbert gets that explosion once per game

On Monday, the Jets worked out a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars to acquire RB James Robinson in exchange for a 6th-round pick that can become a 5th-round pick. Robinson heads to the Jets, where he'll presumably share the backfield with Michael Carter. In Jacksonville, second-year RB Travis Etienne Jr., who had already been taking over as the primary back, should continue to see the majority of the snaps and touches. In the video we suggest a strong bid on Carter following Hall's injury. Given the addition of Robinson, Carter's value decreases as his role may not change that much versus how he's been used this season.
