@Hamon_Master okay. He did bring in more jobs since he was inaugurated. The unemployment rate was somewhere around 10% when he left it was 5%. Trump embellishes. He did do good for jobs, but it wasnt completely his doing. It is now 3.2% which is 4.8% lower that it was when he got in.

@Judith MacFadzen That is great! There are pros to national healthcare. We have it here in Japan where I live. But for me, the cons outweigh the pros. The time you have to wait for a serious health issue can be scary long. Also, the service from underpaid doctors can be scary as well. I think we forget how great our health industry has evolved and it is not a surprise to have to pay a lot.

I agree some things should be cheaper but national healthcare has more cons than pros IMO. It's not the answer.

@L K We pay higher taxes but it's worth it! There are people who do go the U.S. because we do have (at times) waiting lists. Elective surgeries are lower down & people who can afford $20,000 will choose the option to go south. The information you have is purely anecdotal, usually from your Congress & Senate. Ive been hospital 3 times in my life....blood poisoning from a ruptured appendix (3 weeks), 2 childbirths ( 2 days) & paid nothing from my own pocket. Cheers from Canada. P.S. It isn't perfect but no one is ever turned away from medical care.

I do agree with Trump on one thing the US did redefine the middle class. Ensuring that the middle class is now working pay check to pay check with no unions to protect them, low wages, and people having to decide to save money or pay for health insurance (and pray they don't have to go to the hospital). A country now completely run by the large corporations that use and abuse us. We are so whipped.

Most people who live in the US don't know how socialism works, even though the US is socialist to some extent. But who defined socialism in the US? If you do your homework, you will find that it was/is very wealthy people and industrialists who wanted it all. To them, socialism was evil because it cut into their gains. It was as simple as that. So they brainwashed generations of dummies to think of socialism as the end of the world and some sort of eternal slavery and pain. And the ironic thing is that these same people scaring you with socialism are the ones who get billions in government hand-outs every year, even though they're profitable by themselves. If they don't believe in government handing out money, perhaps they should stop taking it themselves. Or maybe their BS about evil socialism is just a ruse to redirect government money into their pockets.

I miss having a SOTU that actually gave me hope for where our country as a whole was headed. I'm pretty much in agreement with the comments on this thread. As far as Stephen's style of humor on the show goes, the words change a little but the joke pretty much stays the same. However, this Trump problem is so serious, that we need this constant hammering from the comedians just for us to stay sane. Everything is so ridiculous, you can't not exclaim about it again! He's been president for two years now. We've had two years to see everything he said was utter bullshit, along with being guilty of everything he blamed others for and taking credit for the good outcomes from the policies he spent two years trying to fight.

still fascinates me that his supporters will eat up his lies and ignore his actions while just a few years ago had bought into that death panel and birther nonsense. At some point, those guys really need to stop blaming "the system" for their misfortunes if they're that easily lied to.
