Stephen the Levite Lyrics

KnA (Kensington and Allegheny) (James 1: 2-5, Phil 4: 11-13, 1 Pet. 1: 3-7)

I'm writin' the soundtrack to my life...
I'm writin' the soundtrack to my life...
I'm writin' the soundtrack to my life...
I'm writin' the soundtrack to my life...

Steve: You still listenin' I'm fillin' in the gap between the endin'
Of the track the scene was ill and it went black it seems real en
Ough to happen things are rough again I wonder if it's judgment
Because of sin or toughenin' through sufferin'
He's conformin' us to Him, can we afford to trust in Him
When things are warmin' up again, if he's the Lord we must to win
It's daily gettin' hotter though, muze ditched the whip
Landlady says we gotta go, movin' in with Swift
The cribs a block away from K and A, it's rocky in this day and age
There's gotta be a way to make a dollar into daily wage
Fiancé is killin' me and callin' me and givin' me
The long and angry fifth degree and honestly it sickens me
She wants to push the wedding back, we argue plus I'm getting mad
She cross the country chillin' at the college, what's the Philly status
Yo she doesn't know the deal, I know she's gonna go for real
She's so disgusted over bills, the phone's the one we both can feel
She broke it off a little later, yo it's odd but still I thank Jehovah Jireh givin' praises, yo my God is still the Greatest
Even though I'm strugglin' my stomach isn't grumblin'
As much as what it could've been considerin' the months that went
Christ control is true you know, my life is shown to prove it so
I write this over music yo, the righteous know to use it bro
God provides a gig again, a nine-to-five with benefits
A hotter spot we're chillin' in, the spot where Josh and Brenden live
Single like Apostle Paul, freedom like a prophet y'all
The single life is off the wall and we still like to talk and all
We keep it all platonic though, peep it y'all I gotta go
I'm leavin' on a hotter note, the reason for the plotted flow
Is showin' y'all purpose of Jehovah, God is purgin' us
I know sometimes it hurts to us, but over time it's worth it bruh
He'll send ya through the fire, it's the Christian purifier
This was written to inspire, shift your vision to Messiah
That's why...

I'm writin' the soundtrack to my life...
I'm writin' the soundtrack to my life...

I'm writin' the soundtrack to my life...
I'm writin' the soundtrack to my life...

Overall Meaning

In Stephen the Levite's song KnA, he talks about his struggles and difficult situations in life. He starts with the line "I'm writin' the soundtrack to my life" which indicates that he is in control of how he responds to the events happening in his life through writing about it. Steve (referring to Stephen himself) talks about how things are rough again, and he wonders if it's because of judgment due to sin or if they are simply being toughened through suffering. He believes that God is conforming them to Him and that they must trust in Him even when things are getting difficult.

Stephen then goes on to talk about his personal struggles such as his fiancé wanting to delay the wedding, their financial struggles, and his job situation. He acknowledges that life is tough but he praises God for still being the greatest even in the midst of his struggles. He also mentions that his life shows that Christ is in control and that he writes about it over music to inspire others to shift their vision towards the Messiah. The song is titled KnA which stands for Kensington and Allegheny, a neighborhood located in Philadelphia known for its high crime rates and poverty.

What do you think of shai linne? I listened to solus Christus (the album) I think he is nice also, right up there with the levite although mellower. Im loving it man, Christian hip hop is new to me Ive only been listening to it for about 4 months tops so Im overwhelmed by all of the raw talent there is. Now I dont have to allow the leaven of secular garbage to pollute my ears~!

Walking down the street in OKC heat looking for my 1st job in the summer of 2008 after moving in with my older brother who put me onto this track. This joint helped get me through some long days.

Was watching Wutang Saga Continues season 3 and a beat I heard for Raekwon reminded me of this track. Had to pull this up again and bang out to the lyrical message again.
