Been Caught Cheating
Stereophonics Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Is on your mind,
Since I'm away
I heard a cry,
Yes, you've been caught
Caught cheating on me.
I know your kind
But I give you
All of my time,
Yes, you've been caught
Caught cheating on me.
Now I love you
Like the way I'm meant to do,
Yes, I love you
Like the way I'm meant to do
But you've been caught
Caught cheating on me.
I know you lie
Down the line,
When I get back
You look in my eye
Yes you've been caught
Caught cheating on me.
Yes you've been caught
Caught cheating on me.
But I love you
Like the way I'm meant to do,
Yes I love you
Like the way I'm meant to do,
But you've been caught
Caught cheating on me.
The lyrics of the song "Been Caught Cheating" by Stereophonics are about a person who has been cheated on by their partner while they were away. The lyrics convey mixed feelings about the situation, as the person loves the cheater but is hurt and frustrated about their betrayal.
The lyrics suggest that the cheating partner is someone who is not trustworthy and tends to get around with other people. However, the person singing still loves them despite their infidelity. The phrase "I know your time is on your mind" could imply that the cheater was more focused on their own pleasure rather than the relationship. The line "Yes, you've been caught caught cheating on me" is repeated multiple times, emphasizing the betrayal and hurt.
Despite the pain caused by the cheating, the lyrics also suggest that the person singing is open to forgiving their partner. The line "But I love you like the way I'm meant to do" shows that they are willing to work through their issues and stay together.
Overall, the song "Been Caught Cheating" is a contemplation of love, cheating, pain, and forgiveness. The lyrics reflect the complicated emotions that accompany infidelity and the difficult decision of whether or not to forgive.
