Daylight
Steve Aoki Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Have thrown all night
I feel so good until daylight finds us
Let's be honest now and again
'Til daylight finds us let's be honest
Now and again 'Til daylight finds us
And we'll be young until the daylight break
Let's take this time
Don't you let no one take us away
And tonight
We'll be young 'til the day awakes
So don't let daylight find us (O oh)
Don't let daylight find us (O oh)
Don't let daylight find us (O oh)
Don't let daylight find us (O oh)
Oh (O oh) don't let daylight find us (O oh)
Oh (O oh) don't let daylight find us (O oh)
Let's be young until the daylight break
Let's be young
Until the nighttime turns grey
Let's take this time
Don't you let no one take us away
And tonight
We'll be young 'til the day awakes
So don't let daylight find us (O oh)
Don't let daylight find us (O oh)
Don't let daylight find us (O oh)
Don't let daylight find us (O oh)
Oh (O oh) don't let daylight find us (O oh)
Oh (O oh) don't let daylight find us (O oh)
So don't let daylight find us (Let's be up)
Don't let daylight find us (Don't let)
Don't let daylight find us (yeah)
Don't let daylight find us oh
The lyrics of Steve Aoki's song "Daylight" seem to express a desire to live in the moment and extend the youthful and carefree feeling until daylight arrives. The singer reminisces about the joy of staying up all night and feeling good until the sunrise interrupts the freedom and fun. They call for honesty in their interactions, perhaps indicating a longing for genuine connections. The repetition of the phrase "Let's be young until the daylight break" emphasizes the desire to capture the essence of youth and live fully in the present moment.
The lyrics also emphasize the importance of not letting anyone or anything take away the precious time the singer is experiencing. There is a sense of urgency in making the most of the time they have together and not allowing daylight to find them, as if daylight represents the reality and responsibilities that await with the coming day. The repeated refrain of "Don't let daylight find us" serves as a reminder to prioritize seizing the present moment and the happiness it brings.
