We're All No One
Steve Aoki Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You take the fall.
You reminisce.
About almost nearly having it all.
You see the stars
You try and catch one
Oh, you tried so hard
Chasing, nothing
We're all no one 'til someone thinks that we're someone
'Til then we're no one
And you got me looking at you
I said we're all no one 'til someone thinks that we're someone
'Til then we're no one
And you got me looking at you, looking at you
We're all the same
We all have hopes
Oh it gets insane
When you're slipping down that downward slope
I come with peace,
I offer love.
So if you're hearing me,
Then hurry baby,
Give it up.
Because,
We're all no one 'til someone thinks that we're someone
'Til then we're no one
And you got me looking at you
I said we're all no one 'til someone thinks that we're someone
'Til then we're no one
And you got me looking at you
I said we're all no one 'til someone thinks that we're someone
Oh!
C'mon
Oh!
C'mon
Do ya best, do ya best, do ya best, do ya
Do ya best, do ya best, do ya best, do ya
You do your best, do ya best, do ya best, do ya
You do your best, you do your best.
We're all no one 'til someone thinks that we're someone
'Til then we're no one
And you got me looking at you, looking at you
I said we're all no one 'til someone thinks that we're someone
'Til then we're no one
And you got me looking at you, looking at you.
The song "We're All No One" by Steve Aoki & Afrojack talks about the universality of human experience and how, despite our different backgrounds and journeys, we all share common struggles and aspirations. The lyrics acknowledge the effort that people put in to try and achieve success, but also recognize how fleeting and subjective success can be. In the end, the song encourages listeners to recognize the value in themselves and in others, regardless of whether or not they have been recognized or validated by the outside world.
The chorus of the song, repeating the phrase "We're all no one 'til someone thinks that we're someone," highlights the importance of validation and recognition, and how these experiences can shape our sense of identity and self-worth. The imagery of seeing stars and trying to catch one, but ultimately chasing nothing, emphasizes the ephemeral nature of fame and success. The song also speaks to the importance of empathy and compassion, urging listeners to offer love and support to one another.
Overall, "We're All No One" is a reflective and uplifting song that encourages listeners to appreciate their own unique journeys and to recognize the value in the people around them.
