Well's 'The Time Machine' to 'Doctor Who' ( I saw the first episode in 1963 and was hooked!) but today's advances in Quantum Physics stuff kind of shows that it's a real thing, or could be. For me, the impossibility of time travel is that even if you could invent a method of time travel (be it a fixed machine or a ship) once you make the jump in time, you would arrive to nothing, because the past is gone and the future is not yet there. So time travel implies that enough energy should be created in order to reverse the Universe in such a way that the entire universe would return to that moment that you want to travel to; or, accelerate it in such a way that the future can be reached. But this idea opens another question, those who are in the project would disappear because the whole universe going back would affect the whole universe; so scientists would have to find a way to reverse the universe without being reversed themselves.

@AJ this is not true because it was a painting not a photo and historically paintings are not true to life they are personified. Example is pictures of kings which never had any cuts or Acne and we know historically that showers we a monthly thing and safety razors were not a thing. I've believe in the theory of time travel and have lived half way around the world being born in the military. I've noticed that more and more people look like each other and when I asked them how do I know you and did you ever work for a specific place they responded with a no answer. Some of the people who I talked to reply with " oh I just have one of those faces " a conversation fraze to get to know each other? Or is it maybe they seen me to from a time in there life also?

I do not doubt you can find a photo of someone in the past that resembles you. The 1st painting of the native american holding a "cell phone" I cannot explain.

I actually did some research on the photo of the man who people were staring at in the shirt and shorts. The photo comes from a colony in Canada that was eventually abandoned in the 1920s or 30s after about 40 years. I listened to an interview by a woman who lived up there during that time. Of course she has long since passed but was interviewed in the 1960s as a way to preserve history because she was one of the last people who lived up there. She had a great many stories, a couple somewhat mystical. But she made no mention of that man, though she did mention the annual festival that photo was taken at. Doing a bit more research I came to the conclusion that people were staring at him because he was wearing the equivalent of his underwear out at a public function. People had the clothes he was wearing but it was used as underwear. In the photo he is wearing it publicly. So no time travel just a faux pas.

@Mario McInnis sorry but you are wrong. This photo came out of a book about the history of the little community that had this particular festival. I bought the book and the photo is identical. It was published years ago and has no references outside of the norm. Perhaps the image was reversed when editing the video, but to debunk it you have to look at primary resources.

What if time is nothing with a beginning and an end but more something like a circle? If you could reach the center of this circle every moment in the time line would be equally far away from the middle. Any change of history would only be valid for one rotation anyways and only affects the moment you are in right now without changing the future or the past from another's point of view somehere in the circle. Just like throwing a stone in a river the stream will keep on flowing like it had before. Even if you throw something in the stream that floats for a while. The water before and after will not be affected by it.

Read Stephen Hawkins "a brief history in time" in that he explains time travel is fact but only in as much going forward not back. If you think of time like cone and when you finished building your time machine was the point time travel started. You couldn't go back to the day before there was a time machine. Theory of time travel is explained by two clocks set at exactly the same time and one is orbiting the earth and the other is at sea level, the one in space ticks slower. Its hardly measurable but been proven. If you done the same thing with twins around a black hole one would stay a baby while the other would have died of old age centuries ago. Its relatively. E=MC².

@onrabonar renfro opinions are like arsholes, Everyone has one. The difference with physics is its a law and can't be broken no matter what comparison you make. Slowing and speeding up time are theoretically possible but reversing time is a pipe dream. Just think about it, for one thing there would never be a lottery rollover.

All, or most at least, "modern" appliances need something to work them! Satellites to provide signals, batteries to provide power, electricity to operate, etc.......thus rendering them useless in any period without these things.

If you believe in an afterlife for the dead and you travelled back in time then you would be the only living thing animal on the planet. Unless you forgot to factor in space then you will just end up in empty space as everything is in motion.
But if can wrap your brain around the idea that everything ,past present and future are all happening as a distint instance and also all at once then it could be possible but again adjusting for space-time displacement of matter. As even going back 1 sec could place you in space or a mountain.
Now,even if you did travelling to the past and made a change, you might just create a branching time line and thus not change your own history.
As for phones in those paintings in the video. The Indian was holding a book. The guy on the beach was probably winding his watch. The punks photo is just that a photo from the 70's England. The charli Chaplin one is either hearing aid or a portable radio, yes they existed back the.
And the hipster is just wearing a school Jersey to a bridge opening and the glasses are aviators of the time.

Even if someone in the past had a smart phone, because in the past communication satellites did not exist and cell towers did not exist they would be unable to get a signal and thus unable to operate it. The shirt the guy in the last photo was wearing has been explained as being a college sports jersey or uniform jersey.

You can see into the past. When you look up to the night sky and you see the stars, you are looking at them from many years ago because depending on how far away they are it can take the light tens, hundreds or thousands of years to reach us so you are actually seeing them how they looked then and not now. So if a star is say ten light years away and it exploded today, you wouldn't see the star explode until 10 years time

Did they do it collective as a nation? Somehow I doubt it. Rather, God gave a limited number of scientists the gifts and wherewithal to make these discoveries, the benefits and liabilities of which were later made available to the masses on a global scale.

out what a ballroom / the dances of that period really looked like .. So the medium went there - but then had to come back quickly because of the strong stench that pervaded

The guy on the beach is rolling a cigarette, holding a little tobacco tin. I had a couple of uncles who use to roll their cigarettes just like that, I immediately knew what he was doing. I think that’s the trick, if you’ve seen it you will know what’s going on. This is definitely the kind of loopy stuff you'd hear on ancient aliens. One thing that this video got wrong though is that time travel is very possible. Time is already predecided. The concept of choice doesn't actually exist. Whatever you choose to do you were supposed to. There is an alternate timeline which diverges from other choices but your life does not follow that timeline UNLESS you are able to time travel.

This is to address the guy at the end. I have seen this photo so many times. The sunglasses he is wearing are from 1940. The brand is Optiks. The shirt he is wearing is a hockey jersey. The wool jacket is era accurate. He is holding a period camera as well. As for the Indian with the cell phone. He is most likely holding a silver ingot with the hallmark stamped into the corner.

The woman in the Charlie Chaplin vid has been given a plausible explanation of it being a time period hearing amplification device. Doesn't mean that is the true explanation, could be a Tome Traveller or hearing aid, or maybe even something else entirely.

Time travel was dismissed by second 47 because "scientist claim it's impossible" and they "claim" that because it is impossible to predict the path of an electron. This is mathematical science from centuries of scholar researchers who have devoted their lives to theoretical physics. This means simply that your great great great great great grandfathers have been researching this idea and we still don't have any way to time travel (known to the public).

By 1937 time travel would have been possible, so absolutely that is a Smartphone. Artists can move among many levels of society so he could have been told about some experiences from some travellers.
The guy on the beach is an engineer. He could be using a slide rule to calculate something.
