In 2005, he released a solo album that involved collaborating with Lilac Time member and original Duran Duran singer Stephen "Tintin" Duffy under that name. In 2008, he also notably performed a concert of cover songs with "The Art of Time Ensemble" in Toronto. A studio album featuring the songs performed live with the ensemble came out in 2010. As well, Page wrote music for the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in the summer of 2009. Page has perhaps gotten the most attention under his own name for his solo album 'Page One', a 2010 release that earned acclaim from several music critics.
In 2012, he released an EP called A Different Sort of Solitude. In 2016, he released his first full length studio album since 2010, Heal Thyself, Part I: Instinct. He followed it in 2018 with a sequel-of-sorts, Discipline: Heal Thyself, Pt II. In 2020, during the coronavirus pandemic, he released a single called Isolation, and has been doing weekly "Live From Home" concerts streaming from his basement.
The Chorus Girl
Steven Page Lyrics

A fantasy? Oh no, never
Wait 'til you hear the chorus girl.
A snowdrop with sunstroke
A love song to make you choke
Wait 'til you hear the chorus girl.
No cocaine and discos
I gave that all up for the chorus girl.
Look out of the window,
The people move down below
Each one is in love with the chorus girl.
You're tried to ignore her
Derided those who adore her
But soon you'll come 'round to the chorus girl.
The poor become wealthy
The sick become healthy
But don't crucify the chorus girl.
At night all alone
With my microphone
I never come close to the chorus girl.
I'm waiting for you now
There's nothing to do now
But save your breath for the chorus girl.
I'm waiting for you now
There's nothing to do now
But save your breath for the chorus girl.
The Chorus Girl by Steven Page reflects the singer's fascination with a chorus girl. Despite being on top of the world and having all the life's luxuries, he finds an escape in the girl's voice, which he calls a fantasy. He refers to her as a snowdrop with sunstroke, which could imply that she shines bright and stands out amongst others but may also be vulnerable. These elements of her personality are highlighted in the song's lyrics.
The line "Wait 'til you hear the chorus girl" appears multiple times throughout the song. It could be interpreted as the singer anticipating the chorus girl's performance or using her voice as a source of motivation. There is also a sense of admiration for the chorus girl from the audience below who fall for her charm and rendition. The singer seems to have once been critical of her admirers but is now waiting for his turn to hear and appreciate her.
The song is written in the first person, which adds a personal touch to the lyrics. The idea of waiting for the chorus girl creates a sense of longing, which is good to display the depth of the singer's obsession. The song could also speak to those who seek refuge in music.
