Diving
Strings Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Tell me a secret, I'll tell you mine.
Tell me about desires you hide inside
There is so much that we should have done
I was insecure but now I'm strong

Diving whatever it may take, I keep on trying
Diving into you.
Diving knowing it was you I keep on trying
Diving into you

Diving into you

Oh diving, into the blue

We are rising
Celebrate the night
It was you who showed me
How to fly

Diving, whatever it may take, I keep on trying
Diving into you
Diving, knowing it was you I keep on trying
Diving into you

Diving, whatever it may take, I keep on trying
Diving into you

Diving, knowing it was you I keep on trying
Diving into you

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Strings' song "Diving" are a contemplative and emotional expression of the deep, introspective thoughts and feelings that arise when one is in love with someone. The song opens with an intimate invitation to share secrets: "Tell me a secret, I'll tell you mine. Tell me about desires you hide inside." The singer seems to be searching for a deeper emotional connection with their partner and exploring the boundaries of their relationship.

The next line, "there is so much that we should have done," suggests that there may be a feeling of regret or missed opportunities. The singer then declares a newfound strength, indicating that they may be ready to take risks and dive into the unknown: "I was insecure but now I'm strong."

At the core of the song is the refrain "Diving, into you," which expresses the intensity of the singer's love and desire. The repetition of the phrase creates a rhythmic, meditative effect that underscores the power of the emotion.

The bridge of the song speaks to the transformative power of love: "We are rising, celebrate the night. It was you who showed me how to fly." Here, the singer seems to be acknowledging the positive impact their relationship has had on their life - they feel a sense of upliftment and are celebrating their partner's role in that.

Wow!

I'm from Louisiana. So, I was in the Los Angeles area back in 1997 visiting my dad's family. I tuned the radio and was surprised and ecstatic to find a radio station playing techno/trance! I just knew I needed to live in a bigger city because we had nothing like that where I was. It was just pop and R&B.

The internet came out and I was able to satisfy all of my trance music needs with downloads and making CDs to listen to in the car.

Damn I should have lived in California to experience this :D

Trance is perhaps the most emotional genre in electronic music. It can make you want to burst out cheering or start crying for no reason. It has the power to instill pure bliss into the listener... Awesome!

@shatteredxangel

I've always had a strong emotional reaction to vocal trance music. And there's a reason for that, actually. Most vocal trance, even going back to its earliest origins as Eurodance, are usually written in minor keys. Minor keys, historically, evoke sad feelings and generally make the listener emotional. In modern music, use of minor keys tends to lend itself to stronger emotions overall.

[Edit] Diving is written in Bβ™ Minor, in case you were wondering.

@@geplayer > party drugs exist to highten that euphoria that brain is already experiencing
Exactly! I never understood people who went to parties just to make drugs. For me it's only a spice. If I don't like the music, drugs won't save the day. It's going to be a boring party and I always regret the money I spend the nest morning lol

@crashx8576

Trance is the best style

@JazzySkyoo7

I could not have said this better. I can go right back to when I first heard this track at club space in the early 2000’s and fall into a trance 🫢🏽

I also was listening to this kind of music when I was in High School. Then again, it was 2012-15 when I attended.

My friends don't like this, but I love it! Listen to what you like, don't worry about the random opinion of others.😊
