"England's Stroke lay out a moody, sometimes menacing blend of hard rock-tinged industrial and trip-hop which relies mostly on electronic instrumentation for its impact. Yet the group has a sense of subtlety as well, never going so far over the top as to turn their darkness into a cartoonish caricature." - Steve Huey (All Music Guide)
You Are The One

You're unstable still to my surprise
Be honest but never catch my lies
Don't say you're the one who always tries
And don't say,
Really are you in this
'Cause I can feel you pulling away
Now my visions gone to hell
I keep it in a box, with my memories
Don't bother with me, I can't take it
I'll be on the road with less a load
You're feeling used, a little bit confused
Don't say
Really are you in this
'Cause I can feel you pulling away
Not to mention all the things you'd never say
So really are you in this
'cause I can feel you pulling away
Not to mention all the things you'd never say
The only thing that you really should say
More than a little bit confused about this 'n that
Can I have back all the things we lose
I wish it were that simple, yeah I really do
I'll be on the road with less a load
You're feeling used again
In "You Are The One" by The Strokes, the lyrics speak of a relationship in which one person is feeling neglected and the other is not being fully honest about their intentions. The song starts off with a plea for the other person to really look into their eyes and be honest with them, while also not catching them in their own lies. The next part seems to suggest that the relationship is not as fulfilling as it once was, with the other person pulling away and not saying what they really feel.
The subsequent lines seem to suggest that the singer is in a sort of distress or depression, with his vision "gone to hell." He puts all of his memories into a box and decides to move on from the relationship, acknowledging that the other person is feeling used and confused. The chorus repeats twice, emphasizing the fact that the other person is no longer as invested in the relationship as the singer would like them to be.
The final lines of the song seem to express a desire to have back all the things that have been lost in the relationship, but ultimately the singer decides to move on with less baggage. The song as a whole has a sort of melancholic and resigned feel, with an emphasis on the futility of trying to hold onto something that is slipping away.
