Change Your Mind
Sunlounger Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Then the daylight comes, off you run
And I don't know how to feel
There's a fire underneath your skin
But it's getting old, out here in the cold
'Cause you won't let me in
When you hold me, I can hear your heart
But you chose a moment that we part
You and I could fly, baby we could be so high
If you just let go
But you're too busy keeping two feet on the ground
And keeping one hand on the door
When you change your mind
You know where to find me
When you change your mind, baby
You know where to find me
You and I could fly, baby we could be so high
If you just let go
But you're too busy keeping two feet on the ground
And keeping one hand on the door
When you change your mind (it feels so real)
You know where to find me
When you change your mind (When you kiss me, baby)
You know where to find me
When you change your mind
You know where to find me
When you change your mind, baby
You know where to find me
The lyrics to Sunlounger's "Change Your Mind" deal with the inner turmoil that arises when someone oscillates between emotional intimacy and detachment. From the opening lines, the singer expresses how the moments of intimacy – when their partner kisses and holds them – feel authentic and genuine. However, when the daylight comes, it signals an end to their connection as their partner retreats and leaves them unsure of how to feel. The singer realizes that their partner is dealing with an internal conflict as they have a "fire underneath their skin" but keep shutting them out by not letting them in.
The second verse of the song highlights the singer's awareness of their mutual potential. They make it clear that if their partner could just let go of their inhibitions and embrace their connection, they could reach great heights together. However, their partner remains apprehensive, "keeping two feet on the ground and keeping one hand on the door" as a way to protect themselves from getting too close. The chorus of the song repeats the notion that the partner can always find the singer if and when they change their mind.
Overall, "Change Your Mind" depicts the push and pull dynamic of a relationship where one partner desires greater intimacy, but the other struggles with commitment. The lyrics suggest that the singer will remain an available option while hoping that their partner will one day be willing to take a chance on them.

DJ Shah + Zara Taylor = match made in heaven. I have them to thank for turning me on to trance in the first place.
SO underappreciated. I don't understand how music like this can be ignored while hateful rap songs & pop nonsense sell millions.
