Lucia Holm was a session cellist, and when she met Carnell at a warehouse rave in Essex they agreed to form a band. Early independent singles and Walk On and Pressure were medium hits in Britain, and in 1993, Love U More, and Perfect Motion from their debut album, O₃ (which got major distribution by Columbia/Sony), became their trademark song and one of their biggest hits to date. Their cover of the Marianne Faithfull song, Broken English in 1992 gave Sunscreem their highest UK chart position (13). They were heavily remixed throughout the 90s, by artists like K-Klass, Jimmy Gomez, Trouser Enthusiasts, and Leftfield.
In 1996, Sunscreem released their second album, Change or Die. They had a string of minor Top 40 singles from this album including When, Exodus, White Skies, and Secrets.
Change or Die wasn't heavily promoted - in or outside the UK - and wasn't commercially released outside the UK, leading to Sunscreem negotiating their release from their contract with Sony. in 1997 the band released a new album via their own label, Kali: New Dark Times.
Other albums released in this period were Ten Mile Bank (2001) and the collection Looking at You: The Club Anthems.
In May 2015, Sunscreem released a new album - Sweet Life - via iTunes.

You can make the sea turn turtle
But you know you can never make me love you more
You can turn wine into water
Turn sadness into laughter
But you know you can never make me love you more
Let the sky fall down, let the leaves turn brown
Let the redwoods die, let the wells run dry
Still you know you can never make me love you more
You can make dew into diamonds
Or pacify the lions
But you know you can never make me love you more
You can make me dance to order
My sex hung, torn, and quartered
But you know you can never make me love you more
Let the new day hide, leave the scars inside
Still you know you can never make me love you more
Let the rain poor down, let the valleys drown
Still you know you can never make me love you more
We can make the sun turn purple
We can make the sea turn turtle
But you know you can never make me love you more
We can turn wine into water
As fathers rape their daughters
But you know you can never make me love you more
Let the sky fall down, let the leaves turn brown
Still you know you can never make me love you more
Let the redwoods die, let the wells run dry
Still you know you can never make me, hey
You know you can never make me
Yeah you know you can never make me love you more
The lyrics of "Love U More" by Sunscreem are about the unconditional love that the singer has for someone, which cannot be influenced or changed by anything else. The song starts off with the line "You can make the sun turn purple, you can make the sea turn turtle" which is a poetic way of saying that the person can do anything they want, but it won't make the singer love them any more than they already do. The following verse follows a similar pattern, with lines like "You can turn wine into water" and "Let the sky fall down, let the leaves turn brown" emphasizing the idea that the singer's love is unchangeable.
The chorus repeats the main message of the song, with the singer stating that no matter what happens, no matter what the person does or what happens to the world around them, they can never make the singer love them more than they already do. The final verse takes a darker turn, with the lines "We can turn wine into water, as fathers rape their daughters" suggesting that even though the person can have power over some things, they cannot control the darkness in the world or the singer's love.
Overall, "Love U More" is a powerful song about the strength of love and how it can withstand anything. It is a reminder that love is not something that can be manipulated or changed, and that true love is always unconditional.

Just found this in 2021 ... I almost cried from being overwhelmed by pure nostalgia.
It was the best time of my life the first time I heard this in 1994 on a stereo the size of three sofas. I danced to the audiocassette single for a solid 3 hours (the stereo had auto-reverse) with my significant other, who agreed that this was "our song" that summer. How did I ever have that much energy?
But how I miss that time. And yet, there's no regret with moving forward.
