Read Full Bio ↴Superchick consists of: Tricia, Melissa, Matt, Dave, Max and Clayton.
Superchick got their first break opening for Audio Adrenaline in 1999.
In 2000, the band self-released their first album, Karaoke Superstars, which was later re-released once they were signed to Inpop Records. Having had songs appear in Legally Blonde, Cadet Kelly and on several television shows including the Real World and the X-Games, Superchick is one of the most played garage bands.
The band's line-up has changed over the years. In the beginning, there were eight members, including crew. Members credited for Karaoke Superstars were sisters Tricia [lead vocals] and Melissa [guitar, vocals] Brock, brothers Matt [bass] and Ben [drums] Dally, Dave [lead guitar, keys] Ghazarian, Andrew [percussion] Vegas, Dan [lighting, pyro] Larson, and Max [keys, guitar, turntables] Hsu.
With the release of their second album, Last One Picked, the line-up listed Tricia, Melissa, Matt, and Max with the addition of Justin [lead guitar] Sharbaro and Brian [drums] Fitch. Their remix album, Regeneration, marked the return of Dave, with Tricia, Melissa, Matt, and Max returning. The release of Beauty from Pain brought with it the band's current incarnation with the addition of Brandon Estelle on drums. Recently, Clayton [drums] Hunt, formerly of Christian rock band Dizmas, joined the group in replacement of Brandon.
After releasing four albums through Inpop, Superchick signed a deal with Columbia Records to re-release "Beauty from Pain" through the larger label.
Cross the Line

What will people think of what you've done this time?
Go with the crowd surely somebody knows
Why we're all wearing the emperor's clothes
Play it safe, play by the rules
Or don't play at all, what if you lose?
That's not the secret but I know what is:
Everybody dies, but not everyone lives
I'm gonna ride like I've got the cops on my tail
I'm gonna live my life like I'm out on bail
I'm gonna be out front, gonna blaze a trail
I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna
I'm gonna cross that line
Everybody freeze
Don't step over the line
Don't stand up, they'll shoot down the first one who tries
Try to change the world, they'll think you're out of your mind
Revolutions start when someone crosses the line
They want us to lie down, give into the lie:
Nothing has to change, and no one has to die
That's not the secret, but I know what is:
Everybody dies but not everyone lives
Everybody dies but not everyone lives
I'm gonna ride like I've got the cops on my tail
I'm gonna live my life like I'm out on bail
I'm gonna be out front, gonna blaze a trail
I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna
I'm gonna cross that line
I'm gonna cross that line
I'm gonna ride like I've got the cops on my tail
I'm gonna live my life like I'm out on bail
I'm gonna be out front, gonna blaze a trail
I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna
I'm gonna cross that line
I'm gonna ride like I've got the cops on my tail
I'm gonna live my life like I'm out on bail
I'm gonna be out front, gonna blaze a trail
I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna
I'm gonna cross that line
The lyrics of Superchic[k]'s "Cross the Line" speak of defying expectations and challenging the norms of society. The opening lines depict the importance given to conforming rather than taking risks and deviating from societal expectations. The concept of following the leader and staying within the lines may seem like a safe choice, but it limits one's potential and true essence. The lyrics highlight the fear of standing out, the fear of being ostracized and ridiculed, and the fear of losing.
However, the lyrics suggest crossing that line and not just living life but actually finding one's true self and living life to the fullest. The lines "everybody dies, but not everyone lives" captures this essence. The lyrics encourage listeners to break away from the norm and take risks, even if others negatively judge the decisions made. The song speaks of living without fear, going out in front, and blazing a trail. The pre-chorus suggests that revolutions are created when someone dares to cross the line and challenge the status quo.
In essence, "Cross the Line" is an anthem for empowerment and encouragement, inspiring listeners to break free from societal expectations and aim to live life on their own terms.
