Oh c'йtait fantastique, encore mieux qu'au cinйma
Tu m'as prise а ton piиge et je ne peux vivre sans toi
Partout oщ l'on allait, lorsque les gens parlaient
Alors j'ai dit "merci l'artiste, ton numйro est terminй
The song "Bye Bye Leroy Brown" by Sylvie Vartan tells the story of a woman who falls for a man named Leroy Brown. She meets him by chance and he claims to be an artist, handsome and charming with a way of doing things that draws her in. She falls into his arms and becomes enamored with his lifestyle of money, love, and risk. As they travel the city and everyone whom they encountered talked only about them, there is a sense of excitement and passion that Leroy and the woman share.
However, their relationship is not as smooth sailing as she thought it would be. He is unable to resist other women which becomes a problem for the woman who doesn't like to share. Eventually, she decides to end the relationship and move on with her life. She tells him that his show is over and she's working in solo, she doesn't need him anymore. The lyrics express her disappointment, frustration, and ultimate decision to leave him behind.
Overall, the song is about the intoxicating and destructive nature of passionate relationships that can turn sour, and the pain that comes with letting go of someone who was once so important. It also touches upon the importance of independence and leaving toxic relationships behind for personal growth.
