T-Rock immediately moved to Memphis and began recording. His clever lyricism and tongue-twisting style immediately endeared T-Rock to fans all over the south. Widely regarded as one of the best lyricists to ever grace a Three 6 Mafia track, his appearances were partly responsible for the platinum successes of two albums and the sale of hundreds of thousands of other albums.
After a series of disagreements between he and his label, T-Rock decided to leave the Hypnotized Minds imprint he was signed to and embark on an independent career. Hooking up with his hometown crew Area 51, T-Rock went on to release several underground classics that have sold over 100,000 copies with barely any promotion or radio play. T-Rock has worked with a multitude of artists that include Too Short, Pastor Troy, Lil' Scrappy, Bo Hagon, Gangsta Boo, Lil Weavah, Max Minelli,Kingpin Skinny Pimp, Gangsta Pat, Al Kapone, Young Buck, Macboney & AK (of P$C) and Bizzy Bone just to name a few major names.
2006 was a great year for T-Rock and his fans as it saw the release of 'The Kush'. The album features production from M.A.J. of Xplosive Productions, DJ Cree, and T-Rock himself. Guest appearances include Max Minelli, P. Dukes of Countree Noise, and his Area 51 family. "This will be my most complete album to date," states the fiery emcee, "I've grown a lot and I believe its gonna show on this album." To say the south is waiting for this release would be an understatement.
Where Da Mob At
T-Rock Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And I'm waiting at the bus stop
Dude at the end
Got a nasty chronic smoke cough
Lady next to him got some big fat feet
You could barely see the sandals
Laughing through her missing teeth
Making sure the whole world knows
Fuck a paycheck man
Probably should have stayed at home
Back off homie
You standing too close to me
Rubbing shoulders
Volume loud on your porno movie
Dude with a watch asked me if I got the time
Where they find y'all man
Think I'm loosing my mind
Says he loosing his sight
Emo kid mumbling
Wish somebody would tell me I'm fine
Goddamn pusher man pulling up
Trying to sell a fucking dub
Sticky icky bubbleyum
Pulled it out his stinky sock
Double pumped the break on his BMX
Crack head across the street
Screaming like he DMX
Got me singing like
Where the bus, where the bus, where bus at
It's taking long, what the fuck...
In the first paragraph of these lyrics, T-Rock paints a vivid picture of the early morning scene at a bus stop. He notices a person at the end of the line who is clearly a heavy smoker, as they are coughing from a nasty chronic smoke habit. Next to this individual is a woman with large, overweight feet, barely visible through her sandals. T-Rock describes her laughing, revealing missing teeth, and making a scene while talking loudly on her phone, possibly avoiding going to work. T-Rock asks another man to back off, as he is standing too close and even rubbing shoulders, disturbing T-Rock's personal space. This individual is disturbingly playing a loud pornographic movie, somewhat perplexing T-Rock. Another person, wearing a watch, asks T-Rock for the time, causing him to question where these unpredictable individuals come from and making him feel like he's losing his sanity. Meanwhile, an emo-looking person mutters to themselves, expressing their need for reassurance.
In the second paragraph, a drug dealer arrives at the scene, trying to sell his stash. He pulls out a bag of "sticky icky bubbleyum" (slang for high-quality marijuana) from his smelly sock. Interestingly, he pauses his getaway vehicle, a BMX bike, by double pumping the brakes. Across the street, a crack addict is screaming at the top of their lungs, reminiscent of DMX's intense vocal style. This chaotic scene has affected T-Rock's state of mind, causing him to sing and express his frustration with the slow arrival of the bus, questioning what is taking it so long.
Overall, these lyrics provide a detailed snapshot of a surreal and eccentric morning at a bus stop. T-Rock observes and shares various odd behaviors of the people around him, reflecting the unpredictability and sometimes bizarre nature of urban environments. As he waits for the bus, he finds himself immersed in a chaotic and noisy scene, highlighting the contrasting aspects of urban life and reflecting on the everyday struggles and frustrations that people may face.
