Many people wondering HOW we get there in the comments.
Even Jacque himself said he could not elaborate on that because he would need to know exactly "when" it were to happen. And it would depend on several things:
1. How many people from different countries were willing - the more people, the easier it shall be.
2. The level of intelligence at that time - Right now, the planet is in denial. We need to get smart & quick.
3. The resistance of the bigots - the people in power right now would most likely trigger a war than to give it up.
4. The Level of Technology - Technology could offer tremendous advantages in relatively short time.
5. The quantity of Resources available - No stone or metal can be spared if we are to make a go of this.
6. Skilled Personnel - Everyone can learn & are welcome but we require the worlds leading structural engineers.
7. Location - This is important because building a VP city in the Dessert would add to the initial challenge.
We can get there. There is a logical path, & even mistakes are considered a breakthrough in the Scientific field - getting us that bit closer to our goal.
Keep talking people. We don't have much time to do this.

Ive already made this comment but for a more specific conversation i'm posting it here again.
I did become an instant fan of this idea of a Resource based economy for many reasons, but there are still some genuine questions that arise whenever I share this idea of an RBE with any regular person or group of individuals :
1. How do you get to implement the idea of freedom from physical and mental slavery, especially when the majority of working citizens (I mean mid -tier c-suite executives & middle management types people)won't give up servitude out of survival or vested interests ?
2. What I mean by the first question is how do you implement and get this idea of RBE across to fellow people at the grassroot level, like a minimum wage worker or a migrant who owns pretty much nothing
3. Another doubt/fear that arises is if this is another highly sophisticated form of Socialism or communism wherein you have very less ownership and end up in brutal scarcity & without money to spend - how do you motivate individuals for any new idea or project and keep them in line ?
4. Most important - the cult related taboo. Whenever any alternative idea is presented to the populace in general, they believe it is like some Pump & dump pyramid scheme or some cult like many in the past which make holistic claims but ultimately contradict in practice and just serve as mediators for monetary evil.
I am all for a universal system which allows you to live the best lifestyle possible but these basic concerns keep arising whenever you share the idea with today's people & often you end up getting labelled like Cultist, Marxist or Socialist.

Most people are NOT individualistic. They are followers who can't think for themselves & just follow the herd.
You are right that you understand that humans aren't smart. If they were, they would have already banned together to solve the problems we all have, & they certainly wouldn't have allowed themselves to be poisoned, kept as slaves & demoralized like this.
It's so sad to see you praising greed & not EVERYONE accepts greed. Just b/c you do, doesn't mean the entire world accepts it.
If you read Peter Joseph's book, you'd understand WHY there is so much greed in the world.

Why will the door which is meant to be found be placed in a place which can not be reached. The door is within.
Who are we? Or should it be who am I. I wonder what it would have been like to have been the only one on the planet with the universe all the animals and all the resources i needed to live. Would i look up at the stars in the sky at night the sun in the day. And wonder what i was placed there for? Well it would all depend if i had been placed in a world where i had the god attributes i seek. I know i can achive this here on this planet in the universe as it is the storms could come the earth could shake the fire could pour out of the core be tested the devils that live in it yes i may lose yes i may be broken yes i even may die but maybe through that journey what i have learned the path of truth with this even though i die i am resurected a new in a new world where the attributes which i dedicate my life to devolping (goodness love kindness mercy peace and all that is of the truest good)are given to me in Godfolds and with the life span strength and youth of eternity to practice these truths within the universe among other beings like me. But how can one practice thw path of truth on a planet like this? where there are so much correlations where only a few know of this call and seek to obtain the reward of the path of Universal truth. Maybe all this is part of the storms.
But why? Why does it have to be this way
There were many possible ways the universe and our existance could have been we could have been made with the godly powers and personas beautiful all knowing all loving all powerful all understanding eternal life and eternity of immortality etc. With ability to create and invent better things in the world. The planet could have been safe and not have all the natural disasters it has that destroys life and humans. The universe is in perfect (the idea that the universe is without a purpose that we can make whatever purpose we want of it) is what limits our ability to percive an even better universe with the best of all things and beings why have a universe without purpose when we can have a universe with the purpose of all good and truest of truths. A universe with purest perfections. If anything could come out of nothing why would this place be the one to be. That shows that this place and us along with the universe is more than what we think it is.
So we have the solutions and answers to our problems but we are not using them. Why is that it is difficult for the rest of the population to accept the new mind being given to us by what made the universe and why did the universe not make all but not just a few subjectable to seeing and knowing the truth.
We could have been gods we could have had all the powers needed in the universe to live a perfect immortal life. Being born already knowing all that there is needed to know. A universe with all the knowledge and the things to give a being the perfect and highest quality of existance these things could have been but it didnt happen maybe the universe knew that not everyone would be paying enough attention to the things around them to realize this. we could have been gods with powers and infinite knowldge of truth capable of anything and never ever doing evil. So why didnt this happen? What is the point what is the lesson is the lesson being that we dont pay attention to our existance and ask the question as to why we are here what the universe we live in is and what we will label it as. is this a test is this a path toward godhood are the questions one asks the answers to the life and existance one seeks. is it a sick game between two powerful being who play a gambling game on us betting that we as human will never arise to ask these questions. If So then lets forsake these gods with incompationate minds and unloving hearts lets rise up lets become our own gods, lets find eternity, lets build heaven and lets live forever. There is something out there and i want it.

However, I promise you that it is carefully thought out, that it addresses your concern and that there is not one redundant word in this reply. I humbly ask that you please do read it. Rad it without any pre-conceived ideas and with a mind that is not closed and combative and set in its way but rather a mind that is willing to listen, just like I am willing to listen to you.
I understand your concern Katy and it is indeed very true that currently a small group of profoundly rich and compassion-less men with an immature and selfish mentality are doing everything in their power to protect their own narrow interests at the expense of everyone else. But do you realize that that is EXACTLY what the vision of The Venus Project is helping us move away from?
Not only is there NO CHANCE for any elite under this vision, it is actually an extremely wise and sane solution to break out of the current control that the elite have over us.
It is quite possibly the best hope we have right now to gain our freedom back from the current system of exploitation and control we live under, a system that at the same time also destroys the very habitat we require for existing.
I am not sure if you actually watched this documentary and if you have carefully looked into the ACTUAL details of the vision - from your reply it seems like you haven't done this because to say that this vision will let the elite control more is completely non-sensical! There is NO POSSIBILITY for an elite to be created under this vision, and definitely no chance for the current elite to survive.
The very wise design of the system makes sure that today's elite will lose the very foundations of their control over us, makes sure that the system functions for the benefit of everyone equally, NOT for the narrow interest of any while creating a very high standard of living for everyone, and also insures that all the blind un-sanity of the current systems is not possible - un-sanity like dividing the earth into thousands of corporations (with a few of dozen multinational mega-corporations being the most dominant ones) all in competition with each other, each one working separately to increase the "returns" for their own shareholders, in a dog-eat-dog mentality, each one doing everything in their power to increase profit above all else. That is the absolute highest value upon which this economy currently operate - PROFIT ABOVE ALL ELSE.
Even if this relentless drive for profit results in destroying your health and the health of your loved ones, even if it means poisoning the only habitat we have to live in (plundering and poisoning the very habitat we depend on for our existence, if that is not the very definition of insanity then I don't know what is) with endless stream of toxins that lead to the killing and destruction of health of million of people (with widespread diseases that were unheard of before the spread of the profit-above-all-else system) and the enormous misery involved in that,
even if the blind drive for profit results in exploiting everything on earth till the last drop, destroying the very life support systems that a planet requires in order to sustain life,
even if it means turning this paradise planet into an toxic industrial wasteland,
even if it means that your loved ones get cancer because a corporation introduces toxins to our food supply to increase shelf life and generate more profits this way (as one example out of numerous),
even if it means people living under enormous constant stress (even in affluent societies) trying to keep our head above the water, and all the misery involved in this,
even if it means that billions of people live in servitude to men with more money than them and have to constantly worry about food for tomorrow and are not able to develop to their highest potential,
even if it means wars are being fought over the control of resources (just think for a minute how crazy it is that we spend trillions to develop the best ways to butcher each other to take over resources that we all could simply share)
even despite all this, STILL the highest value that this system unquestionably operates under is - PROFIT ABOVE ALL ELSE! Do everything to maximize profit no matter what! That is the completely immature and insane system we currently live under.
This mindset considers all the havoc that is caused because of that as "externality". You can look it up, that is the exact term used by executives to refer to the damage that is created by this relentless pursuit of profit above all else.
Cancer, destruction of the earth's lungs, poisoning our habitat, modern diseases, polluting poisoning and destroying the very life support systems of the planet (the only place we have to live), suffering and servitude of billions, these are also considered as an "externality" in this mad economic mindset, and are simply not taken into account when the mega-corporation draws its plans on how to increase "returns" for shareholders.
but it seems you have heard some second-hand half-baked rumors or gossip of what this vision MIGHT mean, or what it might sound like (especially if you mostly hang around specific echo-chambers and are not aware that there are other options out there),
rumors that are completely off base and show a very unintelligent and limited understanding of what this vision really is (quite a few of us in the America are so deeply indoctrinated to view anything that differs from capitalism as to immediately mean New World Order dictatorship for the benefit of a small group of billionaires. There are other options you know.. extremely wise visions that work for the benefit of every one, that do NOT wish to control or take anything from you, that free us from control, that free us to live to our highest potential without servitude or worries of making ends meet )

you know. i think we would have to convince the world to go vegan before a resource based economy would even work.
and the basis for this reasoning is: how could the world transition to a world of no corruption, violence, greed, and slave labor, if we are still fueling a system of corruption, violence, greed, and slavery by our unnecessary consumption of animals and their products?
Most people still haven't made the connection but luckily more are waking up to the fact that a lifestyle that aims to cause the least harm possible to other sentient creatures is the most sustainable and ethical. I have a vision that the world can accept this and go vegan by 2030.
Once this happens i think humans would be much more open to taking it a step further and transitioning to a moneyless society. but that may even be a bigger hurdle. I'm not sure which one will be more difficult for the masses to accept. that we can live happy and healthy without eating animal products? or if we can live well without money..
but nevertheless i think that we can have a resource based economy established by 2050. if we have a vegan world that is resource economy based it will essentially be heaven manifested on earth! lol

I have been a follower of The Venus Project for more than 5 years now and to see that you have released this good documentary as a tribute to Jacque Fresco for his 100th birthday brings me immense pleasure. Its a beautiful gesture to show the world that his heart is still strong and beating for the rest of mankind to join him on this bold endeavor. He is one of the few true ironmen who changed the system by building a new one. I just hope we awaken most of humanity soon enough to make this a reality!
