Pues no observamos
Vuelve el ciego
A acompañarnos.
Vivimos cerca
La indiferencia
Volvemos santos
Frente a sus ojos
Les despreciamos
Su oferta pálida
Sus parcas manos.
El crío grita
Con sus miradas
Su vida vive
Impredecible.
Porque no vemos
El circo nuestro
La ilusión pobre
Que llevas dentro.
Nos falta nada
Mas no brindamos
Negamos fácil
Y nos compramos.
Lo siento niño
Es el discurso
La traba ingenua
Que aproximamos.
Luego creemos
Que respetamos
El viejo sueño
El ser hermanos.
The lyrics to TK's song "Volviendo Santos Nuestros Engaños" speak to the blindness and indifference that many people have towards others and the world around them. The first few lines talk about how we have passed through life without truly observing or understanding it, but then the blind man returns to accompany us. This could symbolize our own blindness and how we don't see the beauty and struggles of life until someone else shows it to us.
The second verse talks about how we live close to each other, but still maintain a sense of indifference towards those around us. We become "saints of our deceptions" because we deceive ourselves into thinking that we are doing well or that we are happy when in reality, we are not. We look down on others, rejecting their offers and help, and instead turn to our own illusions to make us feel better.
The third verse speaks to the consequences of our actions. The child in the song cries out with their eyes, showing the unpredictability and fragility of life. We are blind to the circus that we create for ourselves, and we ignore the poverty of our illusions. We deny ourselves true happiness and instead, buy into false promises and lies that we tell ourselves. The song is a call to be more aware of the world around us and to take action to change it instead of being blind and indifferent.
