Nine worlds of lore
This is the place we keep the weapon of war
Why have you come to Jotunheim all alone
You must be tired and in vain you have flown
I'll keep this force to fell the

Nine worlds of lore
Such was the world in dark days of yore
Safekeeper of the world then was Thor
Such was what they believed in before
Nine were the worlds of lore

Nine worlds of lore
I will not let you wield this hammer of war
So I have come to Jotunheim all alone
To take back what is mine I'll break every bone
By right this weapon wards the

Nine worlds of lore
Such was the world in dark days of yore
Safekeeper of the world then was Thor

Such was what they believed in before

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Týr's song Nine Worlds Of Lore convey a story of a person who travels to Jotunheim, one of the nine worlds of Norse mythology, to retrieve a weapon of war. It is unclear who this person is or why they seek the weapon, but they encounter an apparent guardian who refuses to allow them to take it. The lyrics describe the nine worlds of Norse mythology, which include Asgard (home of the gods), Midgard (the world of humans), and Jotunheim (home of the giants).

The first verse implies that the person seeking the weapon has already faced some obstacles, as they are described as "tired" and having "flown in vain." The guardian of the weapon challenges them, asking why they have come alone to Jotunheim. The second verse reveals that the weapon in question is Thor's hammer, Mjölnir, which was believed to be a powerful force that protected the nine worlds. The guardian again refuses to let the person take the weapon, stating that they will not be able to wield it. The lyrics do not reveal if the person is successful in retrieving the weapon or if they leave empty-handed.

one of the best Tyr albums I think. but I do wish they had more classic Scandinavian melody adaptions, like Torsteins Kvaedi and Ormurin Langi. But damn, this song and then The Lay of Thrym... so badass. buy it! Such was the world in dark days of yore.

Talons of the Raven

Love the album, but the cover art is inaccurate. Thor should be wearing a dress.
