Takida Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The same old lies when you're talking to me and your disguise
transparent for my eyes, it's been a while but I can recognize it,
the dark is in your mind
On and on, it's haunting you, you can't escape,
you mean to be true, it doesn't mind,
You say: I got nothing help me just one more time
-But I don't have a reason, don't wanna change my mind
Evil eye, it's nothing new, you're victimized, he's got you,
well alright, it doesn't matter where you are he will be there
On line, and now I'm sad,
I don't wanna help you realize it's taken over you and now it's breaking
The lyrics of Takida's song Evil Eye seem to be about someone struggling with a personal demon or addiction. The singer of the song is a person who is being haunted by their thoughts, struggling to escape the mindset that they have found themselves in. They ask for help, admitting that they have nothing and that they need one more chance. However, they are conflicted, stating that they do not have a reason to change their mind. The "evil eye" that the person is facing is "nothing new", and they are constantly victimized by it. The demon or addiction is omnipresent, as the song states that it does not matter where the person is, it will be there.
The lyrics showcase the struggle of the individual, with lines like "the dark is in your mind" and "it's taken over you and now it's breaking." The internal battle is a difficult one, with the person recognizing the demon, but still succumbing to it. The lyrics also suggest that it is not just the demon that is the problem, but also the mindset of the person that has allowed it to continue to thrive within them.
Overall, the lyrics of Evil Eye are a poignant reminder of the internal battle that we all face. The song is a cry for help, a recognition that change is necessary, but also a reminder that change does not come easy.
