I didn’t realize how creepy Dan was when I first started watching his shows, but if you pay close attention there are always weird jokes, and he made Ariana do a lot of weird things. This actually had a massive impact of me, and probably many others, as a little girl.
I learned from victorious that my feet were something to be insecure about, they had to be soft and white or they are ugly. My feet are a pinkish colour and I have hard skin on the soles of my feet. I hated it.
I saw scenes of the characters wearing revealing clothing and thought I had to start dressing like that or I would be babyish.
I heard the "adult jokes" that were supposed to "fly over children's heads". They did, I didn't know what they meant, however I would repeat them in family and school settings and get in big trouble. My mum smacked me when I called my little brother a hobnocker and I didn't know why until recently.

It clearly wasn’t just the kids and teen girls that he was creepy towards, most of the boys and the adults were uncomfortable around him too. Avan, Leon, Jerry, Eric, hell even the First Lady. There were so many red flags that this man is bad news. When literally almost everyone is visibly uncomfortable as soon as a person enters the same room, you just know they’re up to no good. I’m glad I didn’t see much of his interactions with the cast when I was younger, but whenever I did see him on screen he always gave me a bad vibe. Now I know why and it’s despicable and sad.

And the way that water scene was written/directed. “Can a TEENAGE GIRL drink water laying upside down”, the teenage girl part was very unnecessary. And Dan was probably like “yeah don’t even aim for your mouth just pour it all over your chest and just gargle one good time if some of it does get in your mouth”. Plus there’s nothing even remotely amusing about that scene, he just used the excuse of his humor “being random” so he could be very strangely specific so it would cater to his fantasies.

So apparently on the set of victorious. Whenever the girls got uncomfortable around Dan. They would bark as Liz demonstrates around 6:44. You hear her bark when Avan and Eric walk up. It clear how much they protected them as much as they could. None of the girls ever wanted to be left alone with Dan. For good reason. You can also see the guys always trying to take Dans attention away. Liz always turns away Ariana backing up or making “strange” noises. Victoria got awkward. The girls were all around the same age (minus Daniella) 16 at the start and roughly 20 by the time they finished. You can see Daniella often put the camera on her when she could. Such an older sister thing.

wow. I remember being seven and watching shows such as Drake and Josh, Victorious, Icarly, the Amanda Show, etc not understanding how inappropriate the "jokes" were at the time. I give all of the actors my whole heart for having somebody such as him for a boss, being unable to speak their voices. Just discovering now the disturbing footage and behind the scenes truly breaks my heart. Not only do I feel that a part of my childhood is broken, I feel that he broke a piece of everyone who worked for him and it will scarre them for the rest of their life. Dan does not understand the permanent damage he has put on these young stars such as Amanda Bynes, Jamie Lynn Spears, Jennette Mccurdy or Ariana Grande. And the fact that she moves her hair in front of her shoulders and pulls down her skirt like she's uncomfortable is horrifying to watch. I can't imagine what else happens off camera if this is how they react as soon as he comes around. They went from a really happy playful attitude to being terrified. And I would too with the way he is talking and the tone he is using. And a few seconds before, Liz was adjusting aris skirt and was tapping her leg in a "get up he's here" kind of attitude. I always thought the obsession with feet on these shows was weird. I've always hated feet and was always weirded out by how many foot visuals there were on these shows as a kid. I liked the humor of the show overall but literally, any time a foot would come on screen I would go "AGAIN? EW!" out loud, so obviously, I said that a LOT. I eventually thought I was weird since all the nickelodeon shows seemed to be normalizing the imagery of feet all over the place when I was straight-up grossed out. Then when I saw that water gun scene with Ariana at 7:09 when I was young I was soooooo weirded out. I was picking up sexual tones that made me feel uncomfortable as a kid, and I even asked my mom if they were allowed to put that on a show for kids my age. She was just like, there's definitely something weird here...ugh
