But never goes away
And when it comes
To nothing I can say
Seems like forever
Forever I will wait
Sometimes it goes
But it never goes away
Who, who and when it comes
The arms of sympathy
Oh, oh
Arms of sympathy
I just wanted you to know
It's OK now
Oh, oh
Sometimes it comes
Now heat up like the sun
I sit and wait
Waits for me to run
Seems like forever
Forever I will wait
Who, who and when it comes
The words like symphonies
Oh, oh
Words like symphonies
And I just wanted you to know
It's OK now
And I just wanted you to know
It's OK now
I just wanted you to know
It's OK now
I just wanted you to know
It's OK now
Oh, oh
Sometimes it goes
But never goes away
Sometimes it goes
But never goes away
Oh, who and when it comes
The words like symphonies
Oh, oh
And I just wanted you to know
It's OK now
I just wanted you to know
It's OK now
And I just wanted you to know
It's OK now
I just wanted you to know
It's OK now
Oh, oh
Ooh, oh
Oh, oh
The lyrics of "It's OK Now" by Taylor Hawkins & The Coattail Riders talks about a complex emotion that one experiences when seeking solace from others but still feeling suffocated and boxed in. The song talks about how sometimes, one might search for the arms of sympathy from others during tough times, but it seems to do little to ease the turmoil within. The phrase "Sometimes it goes, but never goes away" highlights the relentlessness and persistence of the distress.
The song continues to describe how one could sit and wait for someone else to take charge of the situation but can't find the will to move forward themselves. The lines "The words like symphonies" and "Sometimes it comes and heats up like the sun" imply the internal battle the singer faces. They long for comfort but struggle to find the right words to express their emotions. Despite the chaos, the chorus acts like an assurance that everything will eventually be okay - "It's okay now."
Overall, "It's OK Now" is a song that signifies the complicated nature of human emotions when seeking comfort from others. It talks about how sometimes words may not be enough to provide solace, but it's essential to realize that it's okay to seek help and that eventually, things will turn out okay.

I just love the fucking hell out of this album! It's so experimental and different. I really wish Taylor would do another Coattail Riders album. It's his best sideband ever.
