Technicolour
Technicolour Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
just like on TV
just like in the films
just like the books i've read
with your eyes up in the sky
and our thoughts in the stars
your life like a technicolour film
your life but how can you be sure
you saw it all in black and white
we could be more than all this
I just know that we can
but how could we even try
without electricity
with our eyes up in the sky
and our thoughts in the stars
your life like a technicolour film
in 3-D on a big screen
your life but how can you be sure
you saw it all black and white
In Technicolour's song "Technicolour," the lyrics describe the desire to transcend ordinary life and experience something more vivid and exciting. The refrain "your life like a technicolour film" implies a craving for a richer, more vibrant existence, one that is comparable to the imagined worlds depicted in TV, film, and literature. The song suggests that there is more to life than routine and mediocrity, and encourages listeners to dream big and aim for something greater.
The lyrics also highlight the importance of technology and electricity in achieving this enhanced experience of life. Without these tools, the ability to dream big and create a larger-than-life existence is limited. However, the song also recognizes the potential danger of relying too heavily on technology, and encourages listeners to take time to look up at the sky and appreciate the natural beauty of the world around them.
Overall, "Technicolour" is a song about dreaming big and embracing the potential of life. Its lyrics encourage listeners to aim for more than mere existence, to strive for a life that is full of color, excitement, and possibility.

Ooh-ooh (ha, ha, ha)
Ooh-ooh (ha, ha, ha)
I wanna be close to my mother
I wanna belong to the world
A mirror that shows technicolour
I'll be a magnificent girl
But everything is frustrating
Everything moves along faster than I can relate to
But I got power, yeah
Midnight is the hour, yeah
Time to take off your cloaks
Techni-technicolour, techni-technicolour
If we stand together, we can do whatever
Techni-technicolour, techni-technicolour
If we care for one another, we can
Ooh-ooh (hey!)
I wanna know that there's a futurะต
That I can move myself towards
And yet, I promisะต you, yes, all you nasty dudes
I don't need certainty to get my pot of gold, no
Everything is frustrating
Everything moves along faster than I can relate to
But we got grace, yeah
We got style and lasers, yeah
Time to take off your cloaks
Techni-technicolour, techni-technicolour
If we stand together, we can do whatever
Techni-technicolour, techni-technicolour
If we care for one another, we can
Shine, shine, shine, shine
Techni-technicolour (technicolour), techni-technicolour (technicolour)
If we stand together, we can do whatever (we can do whatever)
Techni-technicolour, techni-technicolour
If we care for one another, we can shine (hey!)

My Eurovision's Top 3 last three years:
2019: ๐ฆ๐บ Australia (love you Kate Miller-Heidke, best performance ever ๐ฅฐ๐๐ป), ๐ฎ๐ธ Iceland (in love with Hatari ๐) and ๐ต๐น Portugal (such an emotive performance and proud of my lovely neighbours).
2020: ๐ฑ๐น Lithuania, ๐บ๐ฆ Ukraine and ๐ฆ๐บ Australia.
2021: ๐ฑ๐น Lithuania, ๐ฆ๐บ Australia and ๐บ๐ฆ Ukraine.
Conclusion: I love ๐ฆ๐บAustralia at Eurovision (sadly I've never been to Australia so I really can't say I love the country but I very much think I would) and I love Montaigne. In my humble opinion, Technicolour is so much better than Don't break me, even though I love both! ๐ณ๏ธโ๐โ๏ธ๐ช๐ป
