Black Metal Teratism was formed in 2001 by Vomitus Wrath and Murder.

Overall Meaning

The opening lines of A Trillion Slain speak to the unspeakable darkness that lies within the human psyche. A "trillion slain" speaks to countless acts of violence not carried out, but imagined and yearned for - the "murders uncommitted." These thoughts and impulses, held in check by societal structures and moral codes, are likened to "chains of gold and silver" that bind the singer. The implication is that given the chance, these thoughts would be taken to violent extremes with "rage and fury."

The second stanza speaks to a twisted fascination with death and the macabre. The singer suggests that if human flesh knew how many times it had been "rent" and "broken," it would no longer be able to exist. And yet, the singer revels in the power of the mind to manifest death and destruction with a simple thought. The singer imagines a world in which all those who are "chosen" for destruction will be easily identified and wiped out, and yet these thoughts extend to the utter annihilation of all life - "all will perish and be put to an end."

Despite not committing any actual murders, there is an inner fury and desire to do so.

With all the rage and fury that has been held within
The individual is overcome with anger and intent to commit violent crimes.

Chains of gold and silver
Some kind of binding force, perhaps wealth or material possessions, is prohibiting the individual from acting on their murderous thoughts.

Foul acts executed only within the mind
Even though no actual harm has been done, the individual is thinking indecent thoughts and planning violent acts within the confines of their own mind.

Punished no longer for deeds undone
The individual feels a sense of impunity for not actually carrying out any violent actions.

If that flesh only knew
The living organism, or the body, is ignorant to all the ways it has been harmed and killed in the past.

The many ways which it has met its grisly end
There are various ways that the body can suffer a horrific fate.

All the times the bones broken and flesh rent
The artist is alluding to times when the body has been torn apart or brutally harmed.

Surely I would no longer be
If the body were able to comprehend all the harm it has endured, the artist's intent to harm would likely decrease.

Free to burn away the minds and flesh of The Chosen
The artist has the power to inflict harm upon certain individuals.
