It was written by band members George Daniel, Matthew Healy, Adam Hann and Ross MacDonald, while Daniel and Healy were responsible for the song's production. "Frail State of Mind" is an experimental UK garage and electronica ballad. Its ambient production is composed of a brisk dubstep beat, a heavy, shuffling drum line, cascading synths, chopped vocal melodies, and influences from a variety of electronic, modern rock, and electronic dance music subgenres. I had my first baby in 2014. I fell into a deep depression then, and with every single moment that I grew into being a mother- y’alls self titled album was playing. Helping me through wanting to take my own life.

I saw y’all in 2016 and was absolutely blown away. Nothing will ever top that night.

I just had my second child and I am back in the pit, even deeper. I’ve never wanted to be gone more than I do now. This song, like every other song makes me feel like I have a friend that understands. I can’t express just how many times your music has saved me.

This mv means so much to me as I can relate to it. The overflowing of information and the fact that he doesn’t leave that room (and basically everything about it). I can feel so overstimulated by things other people can process normally that I choose to isolate myself to ‘handle’ it and in the process avoid people getting to know the real me.
Not to get too deep, I’m all good, but I just feel so seen by The 1975 and I feel lucky to have people like that
