Peace Blossom Boogy
The Babe Rainbow (AUS) Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Let′s go to Venice (da, da, da-da)
Man that can move is what a girl wants

Stay up all night talking, love you in the morning
Jack will have Jill and everything will be just fine

I need some contact overseas, please come back
You'll get the contact, when you′re late, take your time
Oh, what a world

Up all night talking, love you in the morning
(Da, da, da-da)
Kiss the wrong person goodnight

I need some contact overseas, please come back
You'll get the contact, when you're late, take your time

La la la, la la la
La la la, la la la
La la la, la la la
La la la, la la la

But who invented natural rhythm?

Overall Meaning

The Babe Rainbow's song Peace Blossom Boogy has a dreamy and hypnotic quality to it, accentuated by the repetitive nature of the lyrics. The song opens with the invitation to "let's go to Venice," which can be interpreted as an invitation to escape reality and enter a dream-like state. The next line "Man that can move is what a girl wants" presents an interesting take on relationships, suggesting that a desire for movement, change, and unpredictability is what makes a person attractive to others.

The lyrics "Stay up all night talking, love you in the morning" and "Up all night talking, love you in the morning" seem to express a sense of romantic and emotional intimacy that is not necessarily tied to physical intimacy. The line "Jack will have Jill and everything will be just fine" suggests that love is universal and everything will work out in the end. The repeated line "I need some contact overseas, please come back" can be interpreted as a call for connection and communication across distance and time.

The line "But who invented natural rhythm?" at the end of the song leaves the listener with a sense of wonder and awe, questioning the origins of something as fundamental and universal as rhythm. Overall, the lyrics of Peace Blossom Boogy convey a sense of dreaminess, romanticism, and a yearning for connection and meaning.
