Legend
The Backstrokes Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Verse

These lights don't hold their endless call anymore,

These nights don't feel so alone anymore, 'cause I'm

here, eyes wide open at the end of a my'stery,
Here, looking over, things I left in the past

Your words don't seem quite so clear anymore

You would have never looked away from my face, now I

see all your secrets, your eyes give away, I

see all the time I had wasted on you.

Bridge

Truth ever living

Here, lies before me

Day breaking through my

Windows calling me on

Overall Meaning

In The Backstrokes's song "Legend," the lyrics in the first verse suggest a shift in perspective from feeling isolated and alienated from the rest of the world to finding a sense of belonging in the present moment. The author sings about how the lights - possibly representing the hustle and bustle of society around them - no longer bear the same weight they once did. Similarly, the nights don't feel as lonely anymore. Perhaps, the author has found a sense of companionship or purpose, which has shed light on their life. They view themselves as an observer of their own past and reflect on the things they left behind. This reflection brings them a sense of comfort in the present. However, in the following lines, the author expresses their realization that they were wrong about someone close to them. They thought they'd always be understood and reciprocated, but now they see the truth of the person's hidden agendas through their expressions.

The bridge seems to give weight to this realization; the truth is present, and the author can no longer be blind to what they see. They are undergoing a transformative period illustrated by the breaking dawn shining through the window, inviting the author into the new day.

This proves that directors can spend millions on horror films but can still be totally garbage...these low budget short films are brilliant and top high ranking films by far this scared me more than any of Hollywood horror films did...well done to the creator of this film truly talented

Ok

Obviously it’s easier to fill a 10 minute video with plot as opposed to a 2 hour movie, but I completely agree with your point that this is scary and interesting with very little CGI, etc

@Ok yeah I agree with you . But I am total horror fan and I have watched 1000s of films what I have noticed in recent years films are not has good has early horror movies there all the same . Same plot twist same monster....these short films are brilliant and I really enjoy them and I think its time that new directors and film makers should be given chance these short films give different plots and there interesting.

The mother's message at the start pulled at my heart. She had a small role in this, but she killed it. She sounded so gentle, so sorry, so concerned. It was so sad.
