Homecoming
The Beat Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Verse:
Din beet ni rahey the waqt slow chal raha
tha Par hojana theek sab mai hope kar raha
tha Ghutke jeena toh tha rozz marra ka Ichchaaon ko maar ke bhooka rozz mar raha tha
Toh bhi kalam nahi chhodi
Aisa verse ni jo likh ke ho kalam nahi todi Tabhi kalam meri glory
Life ke baare mei hai alag meri theory Tabhi alag meri story jung alag meri thodi
Maine music mei paise daalne ke liye job kari Par ambition mere kaam sey thi bohot badi Hit kara rock bottom aur kara bounce back Usi time ke around MVMNT ki deal lock kari
Zindagi ney diye sadmei badey

Jabsey apne gae the hum ulajh sey gae Usi mei fastey gae the hum bhatak se gae Par miley rastey nae toh dekhe sapne nae
Mujhe deni hai ummeed har uss bacche ko Jo kisi bhi takleef mei ya ho latt mei padey Mujhe dena hai bharosa harr uss bacche ko Jo chhotey sheher mei baitha dekhra sapne badey

I'm coming home again
Do you think about me now and then?
Do you think about me now and then?
'Cause I'm coming home again
I met this girl when I was 3 years old
And what I loved most she had so much soul
She said "Excuse me lil homey, I know you don't know me
But, my name is Windy and I like to blow trees"
And from that point I never blow her off
Niggas come from out of town, I like to show her off
They like to act tough, she like to tow 'em off
And make 'em straighten up their hat 'cause she know they soft
And when I grew up she showed me how to go downtown
In the nighttime her face lit up, so astounding
I told her in my heart is where she'll always be
She never messed with entertainers 'cause they always leave
She said it felt like they walked and drove on me
Knew I was gang affiliated, got on TV and told on me
I guess that's why last winter she got so cold on me
She said "'Ye, keep making that keep making that platinum and gold for me!"
I'm coming home again
Do you think about me now and then?
Do you think about me now and then?
'Cause I'm coming home again
Do you think about me now and then?
Do you think about me now and then?
'Cause I'm coming home again
Maybe we can start again
But if you really cared for her
Then you wouldn't have never hit the airport to follow your dreams
Sometimes I still talk to her, but when I talk to her
It always seems like she talking 'bout me
She said, "You left your kids, and they just like you
They want to rap and make soul beats just like you
But they just not you" and I just got through
Talking 'bout what niggas tryna do, just not new
Now everybody got the game figured out all wrong
I guess you never know what you got 'til it's gone
I guess that's why I'm here and I can't come back home
And guess when I heard that? When I was back home
Every interview I'm representing you, making you proud
Reach for the stars so if you fall, you land on a cloud
Jump in the crowd, spark your lighters, wave 'em around
If you don't know by now, I'm talking 'bout Chi-Town!
I'm coming home again
Do you think about me now and then?
Do you think about me now and then?
'Cause I'm coming home again
Maybe you, do you remember when?
Fireworks at Lake Michigan
Oh, now I'm coming home again
Maybe you, do you remember when?
Fireworks at Lake Michigan
Oh, now I'm coming home again
Maybe we can start again

@Iron_J

She had...
Blonde hair, green eyes, ambition and tan lines
My jersey number written across her cheek
On homecoming week
A shirt that was black and a heart that was gold
Told her that I would love her until it got old
Her name means the number 9
She still runs across my mind
Where is she now, and how has she been
Wish I could go back to when we were just kids
Spend another summer chasing her around town
It’s a long jump from where we were then to where we are now
But that sweet track meet forever outweighs the last bleek
Conversation we had from a back seat
I missed you then and I miss you now
Wish I could still sneak over to hangout back at your house
Feels like we’re getting old
Been years since I’ve seen your face or the hand I thought I was meant to hold
It’s okay
I’m glad you found your own way
You don’t say
I love you forever and that won’t change

@l3wfo

Yeah
And you say Mega city
Mega city
Mega city
Were going home again
Do you drink a mini now and then
Do you drink a mini now and theen
Cause were going home again
I met this girl when I was 10 years old
And what I loved is that she got so much Matt's
She said excuse me lil duo
I know you don't know me
But my name is forty
An I like to win crowns
And from that point I leave squad filler off
Sweats come from dusty
I like to show her off
They like to be sweats
She likes to kill em off
And make them drop loot cause she know they bots
And when I grew up she showed me how to glide downtown
In the night time Kevin glew up
So astounding
I told her in my squad is where she always be
She never mess with the sweats because they always leave
She said it felt like they stole the kills for me
Knew I was bad so got to the van and rebooted me
I guess that why last chapter she got so cold on me
She said mc keep getting them
Keep getting them scars and gold for me

Were going home again
Do you drink a mini now and then
Do you drink a mini now and theen
Cause were going home again

Were going home again
Do you drink a mini now and then
Do you drink a mini now and theen
Cause were going home again
Maybe we can play again
But if you really cared for her you wouldn'tve never hit the gables
To follow your dreams sometimes I still voice with her
But whenever I voice with her It always seems she's talkin bout Me
She said "you left your duos and they just like you"
They wanna sweat and crank 90's just like you
But they just not you and I just got through
Talking about what sweats tryna do, just not new
Now everybody got this game figured out all wrong
I guess you never know what you got till it's gone
I guess thats why I'm got and I went back home
An guess when I heard that? When I was back home
Every crown win I do I'm representing you
Reach for the stars so when you fall you land on a cart
Jump in the crowd, spark the flares and wave them around
And if you don't know by know, I'm talking about tomato town

Were going home again
Do you drink a mini now and then
Do you drink a mini now and theen
Cause were going home again

Min home again

Baby do you remember when
Fireworks at lake canoe
Oh now I'm going home again
Maybe we can play again

Years later and this still remains one of my favourite instrumentals/beats of all time

one of the most interesting things I noticed in this beat last year, (and I've heard this song since I was in middle school) is that there's no snare. The kick hits on the 2s & 4s except every 4 measures it'll hit on the 1.

very cool concept. if I never heard this song again and had to recreate from memory I would've sworn there was a standard snare & kick pattern. funny how the mind works.

@kyodai14

I noticed that too from my 2nd sum listen to this song, its an amazing drum pattern imo and it just makes this song 10x better.

@moonlefsyde

The tambourine sort of acts like a snare/clap.

@RobinXlone

There’s only 1 bass note too

@vincenta1382

Damn I hadn’t notice that’s pretty cool thanks for putting me on

@Jay_Causer

Remember when this first came out. It was strange because the piano sounded familiar. It was almost like deja vu. I was certain i heard the sample before.

@pedrocoelho54

I feel the same

@henriquecezarano3079
