La La La
The Bird and the Bee Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

La la la la, la la la la la la la la, la la la la la la la la
La la la la la, come on, come on, come on, come on

Make yourself free, make yourself grow
Come on up into the attic, come and see the glow up
Pretty Adiel kissing everyone she doesn't know
And the pigs are eating popcorn, selling tickets to the show
Give yourself away, feel the wind blow
Watching movies on the ceiling, all the R.E.S we know
If there's someone you don't like you don't have to say hello
There's no reason you should leave, there's no reason you should go

La la la la, la la la la la la la la, la la la la la la la la
La la la la la, come on, come on, come on, come on

Take yourself out here to Tambourine
We have bloated up your eyes and fetching tenderines
If you open up your box you'll find a time machine
If you'll try to find a scratch, there'll be no signs where you have been

Give yourself up, make yourself seen
Don't tell us that you can't believe is sampling

La la la la, la la la la la la la la, la la la la la la la la
La la la la la, come on, come on, come on, come on

La la la la, la la la la la, la la la la, la la la la la
La la la la, la la la, come on, come on, come on, come on

La la la la, la la la la la, la la la la, la la la la la
La la la la, la la la, come on, come on, come on, come on

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to The Bird and The Bee's song La La La are whimsical and dream-like, painting a picture of a magical world where anything is possible. The repeated refrain of "la la la" creates a sense of unrestrained joy and freedom, encouraging listeners to let go of their inhibitions and embrace the moment. The first verse encourages listeners to "make yourself free" and "make yourself grow", suggesting that the singers have found the key to personal growth and self-discovery. They invite the listener to join them in the attic, where they can witness the spectacle of Pretty Adiel kissing strangers and the pigs selling popcorn.

The second verse encourages listeners to "give yourself away" and "feel the wind blow", again emphasizing the importance of letting go of one's fears and embracing the unknown. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of "watching movies on the ceiling" and experiencing "all the R.E.S we know". They also suggest a world where social norms are irrelevant, where one doesn't have to say hello to people they don't like and there's no pressure to leave.

The final verse takes the listener on a journey to "Tambourine", a place where the singers have "bloated up your eyes and fetching tenderines". They promise a "time machine" and encourage the listener to give themselves up and make themselves seen. The song ends with a final repeated refrain of "la la la", bringing the listener back to the joy and freedom of the opening lines.

Overall, the lyrics to La La La are a celebration of life and the beauty of the unknown. They encourage listeners to embrace their inner child and let go of their fears, reminding us that sometimes the greatest adventures are those that are not planned.

This song is played in lots of different retailers and I'm glad I was not the only one going crazy looking for it! :) Thumbs up if you first heard this song in a store and absolutely loved it!

@donowens7872

CWC1983 heard it in a bank. Soundhounded it for the artists' name. Their other great song, also heard in bank, is called METEOR.

@leahcimolrac1477

I worked in a department store many years ago and “Again and Again” was one of the songs that got repeated on the satellite radio. Had no clue who they were but liked it. Found a bunch of their other songs. Made working that miserable job worth it. Great band. Ended up working in a venue a couple of years later where they played live.

@BentigiriIsCewl

Nobody asked but she says "La" 120 times in this entire song.
