They made a name for themselves by consistently touring over the United States. Rather than signing with a known label, they initially decided to found their own, Chunksaah Records (named after their long-time friend Timmy Chunks), but are now releasing their albums on Epitaph Records.
The Bouncing Souls are one of the best selling and longest lived of the punk bands from New Jersey, following the legacy of previously successful punk bands Adrenalin OD and the Misfits.

It's Not the Heat It's the Humanity

It's a four-alarm fricasee boy this heat is killing me
it's hot it's hot tonight
It's duelling dicks in a deep-fry
It's hot standing next to these other guys it's hot It's sweaty snapper in a stir-fry
A blazing sun under a red sky
It's hot
It's hot
How much better can get tonight
It's so hot i can't even think
I need some air
I need a drink Sweaty bodies everywhere down to their underwear tonight!
My balls are sticking to my leg
Pass the 40; sippin' dregs
Raise the roof let's set it off cause we just can get enough tonight!
The Bouncing Souls' song "It's Not the Heat It's the Humanity" depicts the unbearable heat of a summer night in a humorous manner. The lyrics describe the various discomforting situations that arise due to the hot weather, such as standing next to other sweaty people or having one's private parts sticking to their leg. However, despite the uncomfortable circumstances, the lyrics also suggest a sense of enjoyment and sexual excitement that comes with the heat. The repetition of "it's hot" throughout the song emphasizes the intensity of the weather and its impact on the singer and those around him.
The lyrics also include references to alcohol and partying, which indicate the desire to indulge and let loose despite the discomfort of the heat. The phrase "duelling dicks in a deep-fry" is a playful reference to the competitive nature of men in social situations, while "sweaty snapper in a stir-fry" is a sexual innuendo. Additionally, the line "raise the roof let's set it off cause we just can't get enough tonight" suggests a youthful, carefree attitude towards life and the desire to make the most of every moment.
Overall, the lyrics of "It's Not the Heat It's the Humanity" use humor and exaggeration to portray the discomfort and excitement of a hot summer night.
