They made a name for themselves by consistently touring over the United States. Rather than signing with a known label, they initially decided to found their own, Chunksaah Records (named after their long-time friend Timmy Chunks), but are now releasing their albums on Epitaph Records.
The Bouncing Souls are one of the best selling and longest lived of the punk bands from New Jersey, following the legacy of previously successful punk bands Adrenalin OD and the Misfits.

Monday Morning Ant Brigade

i can't see straight One last drink was a bad idea i'm
on the bowl with diarrhea Out the door in a fog barked
at by the neighbors dog forgot my keys i went back
inside I got a flat so i can't ride The phone rings AW JEEZ
now what? i am an idiot so i pick it up (hello?) Now i'm
held up on my line My cretin landlord he's wasting my time
he wants his money or we go to trial HE'S GOT PENIS
monday morning ant brigade Another weekend i didn't
get paid it's a monday morning ant brigade Fuck it all
no regrets i'm staying in and you can bet it sucks
outside in the pouring rain I'll smoke some pot and
fry my brain Thom cut the record down to the bone I'm
the sureshot rocking the microphone Another weekend i
didn't get laid it's a monday morning ant brigade I've got
the monday mornings
The Bouncing Souls's song "Monday Morning Ant Brigade" is a song that delves into the mundane feelings and experiences that many people face on a typical Monday morning. The lyrics paint a picture of a rough morning, one in which the singer wakes up late, feels physically unwell, and must deal with a range of frustrating obstacles throughout their day. These setbacks include getting diarrhea after one last drink before bed, getting barked at by a neighbor's dog, forgetting keys and getting a flat tire. These frustrating moments lead the singer to call his cretin landlord about rent, who wastes his time with unreasonable demands and even penis envy denial.
The lyrics also touch upon the singer’s social life. He mentions that he didn't get laid or paid over the weekend and decides to stay in and smoke some pot to soothe his soul. The song culminates in an expression of discontent about the mundanity of Monday mornings, with the singer joining the "ant brigade," which is used to depict the uniformity of society.
Overall, the song presents a commentary on the monotony of daily life and the struggles faced on a Monday morning. The lyrics shed light on the difficulties people face in their day-to-day routines, while also touching upon the universal themes of disappointment, frustration, and boredom.

I always think of this song on my ride to the salt mine on Monday. Then I think about the kazoo solo, and realize it's not so bad. Possibly the greatest song ever written.
