Can you hear me now?
Can you hear me now?
Can you hear me now?
Can you hear me now?
Yeeeh
Am I coming through?
Am I coming through?
Devil came by this morning
Said he had
Something to show me
I was looking like I've never seen a face before
Here we go now, let's slide into the open door
Pictures and things that I've done before
Circling around me
Out here on the floor
I'm dreaming this and I'm dreaming that
Regretting nothing
Think about that
I'm seeing waves breaking form to my horizon
Yeah I'm shining
I'm seeing waves breaking form to my horizon
Lord, I'm shining
Are you hearing me?
Like I'm hearing you?
Are you hearing me?
Like I'm hearing you?
You know I almost lost my mind
I can't explain
Where I've been
You know I've almost lost my mind
I can't explain
Where I've been
You know I almost lost my mind
I couldn't explain
What I've seen
Im happy now to have seen it
To find that the images are fading away
I'm seeing waves breaking forms to my horizon
Yeah I'm shining
I'm seeing waves breaking forms to my horizon, lord
I'm shining yeah
Are you hearing me?
Like I'm hearing you?
Are you hearing me?
Like I'm hearing you?
You know I almost lost my mind
I can't explain
Where I've been
You know I almost lost my mind
I couldn't explain
The things I've seen
But now I think I see the light
Now I think I see the light
Lend me your hand
Lend me your hand
Lend me your hand
Lend me your hand
Lend me your hand
I'm seeing waves breaking form to my horizon
Yeah I'm shining
I'm seeing waves breaking form to my horizon, lord
I'm shining
Oh are you hearing me?
Like I'm hearing you
Oh are you hearing me?
Like I'm hearing you?
(Repeat)
You know I almost lost my mind
Now I'm home, and I'm free
Did I pass the acid test?
Did I pass the acid test?
(Repeat)
You'd better go to bed now
(Repeat)
The lyrics to The Test by The Chemical Brothers featuring Richard Ashcroft convey the message of spiritual awakening and enlightenment through a journey of self-discovery. The opening lines, "Can you hear me now?" and "Am I coming through?" suggest a search for connection and clarity. The devil comes to the singer with something to show, and the singer's reflections on past behaviors and experiences culminate in a realization that leads to renewed self-awareness and a newfound sense of freedom.
The lyrics use vivid imagery of waves breaking form to the horizon, shining and casting light, to convey the singer's state of mind. The repeated phrase "Are you hearing me? Like I'm hearing you?" suggests a yearning for reciprocity, and the gradual evolution of the lyrics towards a state of acceptance and self-forgiveness sets up its positive resolution with the last lines, "Now I think I see the light / Did I pass the acid test? / You'd better go to bed now."

I love how The Chemical Brothers tried to tell a story with the video to their songs. Always get goosebumps the moment the girl is suddenly surrounded by people dancing around her just after a house almost fell on top of her and Richard singing "My heart and soul, they are free" combined with the elevated music. This is pure art.
@Hoboken90
its quite simple, soul is in the ether , the waters above, where time and corruption dont exist, once u are bornt, u are channeld through the astral world (stars , which are simple luminaries ) and once u incarnate you see alll the stars above, which were souls, like you , before encarnating into the material world
In order to understand this, u have to have full knowledge of the flat earth cosmic view, if ure nasa pro u absolutely have no right in understanding this
