By 2000 the end of the year, they got to be one of the 20 finalists of the 1st Ibero-American Contest of Internet Music, organized by Universal. Altogether 2700 musicians participated, from all over Latin America, Spain and U.S.A..
By March, 2001, the group released its first LP, featuring covers and originals
In 2002, The Child lived in Barcelona, Spain, where they usually played at many historical music places in the city.
In 2003 they reached the semi-finals of the Demo Project organized by the International Festival of Benicassim, one of the greatest festivals in pop, electro and indie scene in continental Europe. That same year, The Child produced its second album, Home, which begins to define the sound of the band: an unclassifiable pop, post rock, electro and world music blend, heterodox material and exquisite vocals.
In January 2005 The Child launched its third LP, Format Soul. This became a year of international projection, playing numerous gigs in England (The Marquee Club, The Comedy, Bull & Gate, Hope & Anchor, The Water Rats, Storm, Sound, The Dublin Castle, The Bullet Bar...), France and Germany.
Since March 2007, The Child live in London and have released their fourth studio album, "Think Loud”, which represents a complete twist in the sound of the band: a return to their rock roots, but also, a record that finally registers the energy of their breathtaking live performances.
They are currently touring the UK extensively.

Some reviews about The Child
“you couldn't knock it down even if you had all the Brit-school chart-toppers on your side…brilliant pop-rock…The Child have nailed the pop-rock equation to produce classic tracks. Britpop is back with Argentinean class” (Tasty Fanzine)
“…Pop noire with singer-songwriterly leanings, a fragile voice embellished with ample ambient colour. Very well realized, quite dark and tragi-pop in realization, reminiscent perhaps of Bowie circa Young Americans or the work of Butler and MacAlmont”.(Bugbear)
“First-class pop-rock with a classic feel and some top tunes…a first-class ear for song writing” (Subba-Cultcha)

I'm glad you came to stop by
Don't be afraid I'm not here to remind you
Of all of your fears and alibis that are behind you
Take from me these handpicked roses
Hurry before the door closes
Time and time again
I've been here before
And time and time again
you've been here before
Just to see me walk out that door
So if you go I won't trip
But my heart it might slip
These red roses don't mean shit
These red roses don't mean shit
I can feel your hand losing its grip on me
These red roses don't mean
These red roses don't mean shit
To you or me
Oh no here we go
I can't do this anymore
Oh no here we go
I can't do this anymore
Talking about you and me
Talking about you and me
I can feel your hand
losing its grip on me
These red roses don't mean
These red roses don't mean shit
To you or me
"The Garden" by The Child is a heartfelt and introspective song that speaks of a tumultuous relationship and the emotional struggles that come with it. The lyrics paint a picture of a garden filled with roses, symbolizing love and beauty. The singer welcomes their partner into this garden, assuring them that there is no need to be afraid or reminded of their past fears and excuses. However, there is a sense of familiarity in this situation, as both the singer and their partner have been through this cycle before - one walking out the door and the other left behind.
The singer expresses their ambivalence towards their partner leaving again, stating that they will not trip over their departure. However, they acknowledge that their heart might still be affected. The repetition of the phrase "These red roses don't mean shit" suggests that the romantic gestures and symbols of love have lost their significance. The singer can sense their partner's hand slipping away, symbolizing the erosion of their connection. Ultimately, the red roses hold no meaning for either party involved, highlighting the state of disillusionment and emotional detachment in the relationship.
This song delves into the complexities of love and relationships, exploring themes of trust, fear, and the repetitive nature of patterns that can lead to emotional detachment. It captures the frustration and exhaustion that can arise from being caught in a cycle of loving someone who continually walks away. The lyrics evoke a sense of resignation and a longing for something deeper and more fulfilling.

Welcome to this garden of roses
I am inviting you into a beautiful and peaceful environment
I'm glad you came to stop by
I appreciate your presence and visit
Don't be afraid I'm not here to remind you
There is no need to worry, I am not here to bring up negative memories
Of all of your fears and alibis that are behind you
I won't bring up your past excuses and anxieties
Take from me these handpicked roses
Accept these carefully chosen symbols of love and affection from me
Hurry before the door closes
Act quickly before the opportunity is gone
Time and time again
Repeatedly, on multiple occasions
I've been here before
I have experienced this situation before
Just to see you walk out that door
Only to witness you leaving and ending our connection
And time and time again
Similarly, repeatedly
you've been here before
You have also been in this situation before
Just to see me walk out that door
Just to witness me leaving and ending our connection
So if you go I won't trip
If you choose to leave, I won't overreact or cause a scene
But my heart it might slip
However, my emotions may become unsettled and hurt
These red roses don't mean shit
These red roses hold no significance or value
I can feel your hand losing its grip on me
I sense your affection and connection to me weakening
These red roses don't mean
These red roses lack importance or significance
These red roses don't mean shit

To you or me
They have no meaning or importance for either of us
Oh no here we go
Oh no, it seems like we are heading into a familiar pattern
I can't do this anymore
I am unable to continue with this situation or relationship
Talking about you and me
Discussing the dynamics and issues between us
I can feel your hand
I sense your touch and connection with me
losing its grip on me
Becoming weaker and less secure in our relationship
These red roses don't mean
These red roses lack importance or significance
These red roses don't mean shit
These red roses hold no significance or value
To you or me
