1. The Clarks are an American rock band from the Pittsburgh area. Over the course of twenty years they have produced a total of 12 studio, live, and solo releases. Primarily being a regional band, a major highlight for the group and their fans was a musical appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman. On June 21, 2005, they released their first "Best Of" compilation, Between Now and Then. Band members: Scott Blasey (lead vocals, guitar), Rob James (Guitar, vocals), Greg Joseph (bass, mandolin, vocals), Dave Minarik (drums).
2. The Clarks are also a long-standing beat/rock band from The Hague, The Netherlands. They play cover versions and perform as a session and backing band. In recent years a large Dutch audience got to know them as the backing band for the 'Pioniers van de Nederpop' / 'Golden Years Of Dutch Pop Music' touring caravan. During these live shows they backed front men of Dutch beat groups from the 1960s and also performed a few tributes to Dutch legends such as Q65, Shocking Blue, Sandy Coast and The Hunters.

I don't want to work today I just want to lay around, do the thing that we do, I just wanna play
Maybe I'll call in sick
Crawl back into bed
Pull the covers over my head
Just wanna hit snooze one more time
Close my eyes and drift off
Snuggle in where it's warm and soft
I don't want to work today I just want to lay around, do the thing that we do, I just wanna play
This job doesn't pay me enough
I'm bored and I'm tired
But I can't afford to be fired
If I lose my job, don't know what I'll do
They'll take may house and my car
I'll lose everything, including you
But I don't want to work today I just want to sleep in, watch TV and hang out with you
I don't want to work today I just want to lay around, do the thing that we do, I just wanna play
Adulting is way too hard
Who invented it anyway?
All I want is one day off
Can't I have one every day?
I don't want to work today I just want to sleep in, watch TV and hang out with you
I don't want to work today I just want to lay around, do the thing that we do, I just wanna play
I don't want to work today I just want to sleep in, watch TV and hang out with you
I don't want to work today I just want to lay around, do the thing that we do, I just wanna play
The Clarks' song "Today" is an ode to the experience of attending a yearly gathering to listen to a beloved band. The song depicts a caravan of people from all over the country heading to their destination to listen to a band play. It starts with the band's arrival, where they play to a delightful crowd who have come to listen to them specifically. They describe the festivities as being a once-a-year occurrence, evoking the idea that this band might be the reason for this large gathering. The band's ability to gather a crowd is portrayed through the line "they come from miles around, just to listen to the sound." This line shows how dedicated the band's following is and how far people go to hear them play.
As the song continues, it portrays the listener's experience at the show. They describe hearing a "little voice" as they enjoy the music and revel in the moment. They describe the excitement in the moment through the repetition of "today" in the chorus, emphasizing the fleeting nature of the experience. Finally, they talk about how the experience culminates as the show ends, and the people depart with the memory of the music still ringing in their ears, and the anticipation that this tradition will repeat itself next year.
In conclusion, the song paints a picture of the excitement and sense of community felt when seeing a beloved band play. It engenders a feeling of nostalgia for experiences once had and the hope that they will continue to happen year after cherished year.

Saw them at Indiana where they originally met at IUP. Memories at 17 of skating, living life and listening outside the venue which was more than enough. Such a underrated band. True musicianship🤘
