1) A band hailing from Turku, Finland, composed of Teemu Brunila (vocals/guitars), Samuli Haataja (bass/vocals) and Erkki Kaila (drums).
At the end of the last century The Crash got their first album out: "Comfort Deluxe". The most well known was probably "Sugared" with a stylish music video that actually won some awards in Finland (Gayest Video in Finland Award by Vinoraati). The band toured internationally as well, and word spread around. In 2002 the second album "Wildlife" came out, "Lauren caught my eye" could be heard all over Europe. Their third album "Melodrama" with very strong 1980's influence was once again a success, not to mention the music videos they shoot (for example for the hit single "Still Alive").
In September 2006 the band released their fourth album "Pony Ride".
In March 2009 the band informed that they're quitting.

Thorn In My Side
The Crash Lyrics

Waving away this stormy affair (ea-hee)
Like we wouldn't care
The stable hands
Tearing away this thorn in my side
You by my side
When you're not around here
I'm gonna fall
I'm gonna fall
If you're not around me
I'm gonna lose
I'm gonna fall
Talking away but thinking in rhymes (ea-haa)
The stable plans
Fading away this Bonnie & Clyde
You by my side
Hey please don't bring me down
If you're not around here
I'm gonna fall
Yeah I'm gonna fall
If you're not around me
I'm gonna lose
Yeah I'm gonna fall
When will you turn around
Hey, when will you turn around to me
When will you turn around..to me
Hey please don't let go
'Cause I'm still holding on
If you're not around me
I'm gonna fall
Yeah I'm gonna fall
If you're not around me
I'm gonna fall
Yeah up against the wall
I'm gonna lose
Ye I'm gonna fall
The lyrics of The Crash's song Thorn in My Side explore the notion of dependence and anxiety in a relationship. The singer of the song admits to being unable to function without their partner, acknowledging that their absence would result in a significant emotional downfall. The reference to "stable hands" suggests the idea of stability and security that the partner brings, and the notion that without them, the singer would feel as though they are not being cared for appropriately. The line "talking away but thinking in rhymes" could be an indication of the singer's tendency to use language as a way of coping with their emotions, perhaps indicating that they find it difficult to express what they are feeling directly.
Throughout the song, there is a sense of desperation and fear of loss, as evidenced by the repeated refrain "If you're not around me, I'm gonna fall/I'm gonna lose". The use of repetition further emphasizes the level of anxiety and the dependency on the partner. The song's climax comes in the form of the plea "Hey, please don't let go/ 'Cause I'm still holding on", which suggests a fear of the relationship slipping away.
Overall, the lyrics of Thorn in My Side are a poignant and relatable reflection on the fears and anxieties that can come with being in love and relying on another person for emotional security.
