Stay
The Dave Clark Five Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Stay, ahhh
Just a little bit longer
Please, please, please, please, please
Tell me that you're going to

Now your daddy don't mind
And your Mommy don't mind
If we have another dance, ya
Just one more time

Oh, won't you stay
Just a little bit longer
Please let me hear you say
That you will

Won't you place your
Sweet lips to mine
Won't you say you love me
All the time

Oh ya, just a little bit longer
Please, please, please, please, please
Tell me your going to
Come on, come on, come on, stay
Come on, come on, come on, stay, oh la de da

Come on, come on, come on, stay, my, my, my, my
Come on, come on, come on , stay

The DC5 also covered material from others as well. Most performers covered re-makes and this song was nicely done. Even if they were considered the Beatles rivals, the DC5 had their own unique sound. Yeah...The Beatles and the DC5 they knew each other and they had respect for one another's music. Because the British groups took Rock music into another level.

Let's include the DC5's talent for composing instrumentals ! "Time", "Sweet Memories", " When I'm Alone", to mention a few, were kind of sophisticated for us screaming teeny boppers, but I loved them just the same and still do!

SylentEcho

Crazy sounding! Love it.

I love the production on this. It’s sounds like a lower guitar tuning. Drums tuned low, too. Almost ska, a little. Love this.

James Marshall

Better than the Zodiacs' version!

Becky ONeal

Another incredible jewel.
