If it wasn’t for the brilliance of Duran Duran’s (Band moniker lifted from the villain “Durand Durand” of the excellent cult classic 1968 sci-fi film, “Barbarella”) original lead vocalists -

Stephen “Tin Tin” Duffy (Ex Subterranean Hawks 1979 - 1981)

&

Andy Wickett (Ex T.V. Eye 1977 - 1978) ...

The original Duran Duran sound circa 1978 influenced directly by Stephen “Tin Tin” Duffy & Nick Rhodes would have ceased to exist...

& There would not be great timeless songs such as...

“Girls On Film” (Early Duran Duran demo “See Me, Repeat Me” w / Andy Wickett on lead vocals. Also written by Andy Wickett who ended up selling his rights off to that song to Duran Duran directly prior to his exit from the band for a ridiculous paltry amount of dough)

As well as...

“Rio” (Which was lifted wholesale from the T.V. Eye song, “Stevie’s Radio Station”. Also written by Andy Wickett & Dave (K)Cusworth)

Never underestimate Duran Duran’s original brilliant vocalists, Stephen “Tin Tin” Duffy & Andy Wickett!!

This album brings me back.
It's been years since I listened to it.
Really enjoyed it, especially barbarellas.
What a beautiful ballad.
Nick Rhodes is stamped all over it, with his haunting melodies.
Brilliant when it was released, still brilliant to this day !!!

I love this album! So many great songs.

@RonanLynch

Never heard this before - a hidden masterpiece. Pretty cool to hear some old but new (to me) songs from the mind that essentially gave us Duran Duran.

@marcd2936

Duffy is also a founding member of DD and was the original lead singer.

First time I listen to this album! The only Tin Tin Duffy I knew was his "Kiss Me" dance hit. Oh, I wish I could get a copy of this CD. I really like it. DD fan since early 80s.

@marcd2936

Duffy's got some other great songs, like "Hold Me" and "The Icing On The Cake". Also check out the band Lilac Time, which he fronts.
