Throwing Stones
The Draytones Lyrics

We can't pay the rent but still we're smiling
Happy because we are in Scotland
I'm not wrong we stayed there
The sky's our ceiling, the loch's still and quiet
Even sometimes it seems to say us something
I think we had a good time
Throwing stones
Throwing stones
Now the clouds come down to embrace the heroes
Breath them in 'cos they're coming down the meadows
Throwing stones in the loch
I'm not wrong, I was there throwing stones
Throwing stones
Throwing stones
Ooooh!
Throwing stones
Throwing stones
Ooooh!
The lyrics of "Throwing Stones" by The Draytones revolve around a group of friends spending time together in Scotland, despite their financial situation. The group is throwing stones into a loch (a Scottish term for a lake), enjoying each other's company and the peaceful surroundings of the countryside. The simple pleasures of life seem to make them happy, and the singer reflects on the memories they have created together.
The overarching theme of the song is the power of friendship and connection to overcome difficult times. The line "We can't pay the rent but still we're smiling" suggests that money is tight, but the group is still able to find joy in their experiences with each other. The imagery of the sky and loch create a sense of serenity, adding to the idea that the group is finding peace and happiness in each other and the world around them.
Overall, "Throwing Stones" celebrates the beauty of simple things and the importance of relationships over material possessions. The song speaks to the human need for connection and how good memories with loved ones can provide comfort and joy during hard times.
