The band consists of Clark Baechle, Todd Fink (formerly known as Todd Baechle), and Joel Petersen. They signed to Saddle Creek Records and released a few singles, but were unable to establish widespread sales, though they were extremely popular in the Omaha-area. After adding Matt Bowen, The Faint released Media, which established them within a small, national community of fans. While touring, Bowen left and was replaced by Jacob Thiele who helped move the next album, Blank-Wave Arcade, towards a more dance and electronica influenced sound. The album was an underground hit. Partway through the creation of the morose Danse Macabre, The Faint added Dapose, a death metal guitarist formerly of LEAD. Danse Macabre was also a critical and commercial success and has helped to establish a wider fanbase for the band. Their 4th album, released in 2004, is called Wet from Birth.
In 2002 bassist Joel Petersen released the first album from his solo project, Broken Spindles, and he has since released two subsequent albums and had a U.S. tour. Guitarist Dapose also has a side-project, Vverevvolf Grehv, releasing his first album in 2008.
On December 12th, 2005, The Faint announced that they have moved out of The Orifice (a rented out warehouse they used to record Wet from Birth) and into ENAMEL, a 100-year-old building where they recorded the tracks for their next album, Fasciinatiion.

Evil Voices
The Faint Lyrics

Stalk my dreams
Undress my future
Decode my enemies
I give hope my money
But waste my time
Give ghosts attention
Evil voices lie when they say you're alone
Evil voices lie when they say you're alone
Evil voices lie when they say you're alone
Evil voices lie when they say you're alone
Evil voices
Evil voices
Evil voices
Evil voices
Evil voices
No ghosts to side with
No glyphs to hang
I can't fight the prophet
No one sees him
Stare through these eyelids
Deep mirror gorge
But why the eye the inside the mind to fill the void
Evil voices lie when they say you're alone
Evil voices lie when they say you're alone
Evil voices lie when they say you're alone
Evil voices lie when they say you're alone
Evil voices
Evil voices
Evil voices
Evil voices
Evil voices
Evil voices
Evil voices lie when they say you're alone
Evil voices lie when they say you're alone
Evil voices lie when they say you're alone
Evil voices lie when they say you're alone
Lie when they say you're alone
Evil voices lie when they say you're alone
Evil voices lie when they say you're alone
Evil voices lie when they say you're alone

The lyrics of The Faint's song Evil Voices convey a sense of paranoia and mistrust, as the singer battles with their inner demons and struggles with the idea of being alone. The opening lines suggest that the singer is haunted by their own fears and insecurities, as they document their nightmares and try to make sense of them. The next few lines indicate that the singer is at a loss when it comes to dealing with their own problems, as they waste their time and money on hopeless endeavors and ignore the ghosts of their past.
The chorus of the song is a repeated affirmation that the "evil voices" that claim the singer is alone are lying. This suggests that the singer is fighting against the feeling of isolation that can come with anxiety or depression, and that they are trying to find some way to connect with others. The final verse implies that the singer is still struggling with their inner demons, as they stare into the mirror and try to fill the void inside themselves.
Overall, Evil Voices is a haunting and introspective song that speaks to the complex emotions that can arise when dealing with mental health issues.

One of the greatest bands on the planet
paradigmdashed
saw them for the 6th time in my life last night. for a bunch of mid-life crisis punks from nebrasky, they still put on one of the best live shows by any band out there! though their new album isn't my favorite, the world is better with it, plus, they've stayed true to their sound without repeating themselves! hope they make music until their agenda reads suicide!

Nebrasky though?

This has been one of my favorite songs on one of my favorite albums for years, and I'm just now thinking about looking up the music video. I feel like I've been missing out for years, this video is amazing.
