You can find the whole original footage. Its an anti-debris shield that one of the astronauts literally loses in the video. They film it drift away. Its moving with the space station because it was attached to the space station.

suppose there was life on Mars what would you recommend we do?? study them? contact them immediately? stay out of their complex emotional psychological lives? I always wonder what humans would do and try and relate that back to us being observed by aliens.
What if we are rather too inferior in technology and social development that they fear a direct contact would impact our evolutionary development. I just imagine the issue of religion!! Thanks you got me excited there.

I think there is an effort to find an efficient way to collect and remove the space junk orbiting the Earth. It's a very tall order to fulfill. One of the problems is that (so far) there's more push to work on projects in the space station. There needs to be more effort in assigning external projects that are intended to collect the orbiting junk. That would require additional spacecraft dedicated to remove debris (Space garbage trucks?) and push it into the atmosphere where most of the small objects will burn up harmlessly. Larger objects need to be directed to drop into oceans or uninhabited land areas. There needs to be more of an effort to actually start collecting the debris, not just talk about it.

Well, this issue of space junk floating around has really got out of hand. It’s a bit like the plastic problem in our oceans. I can’t really see the space junk problem going away as countries are putting more and more up there every month. Are there any ideas about to address the issue?

For what it's worth, on Dec. 3rd 2020, round about noon, I had my phone connected to the TV in my office. I had the ISS app on, and the space station was on the dark side of the earth getting ready to pass over Saudi Arabia. Passing slowly from right to left on the screen was an Apollo lunar lander. Decent stage was still attached along with the legs. Guessing 30 to 50 feet away it was unmistakable. There was a small debris field following it. There were only 3 landers abandoned in space. Apollo 9, 10 and 13. 9 and 10 had the abort system tested which means no decent stage or legs. However on 13, the decent stage was still in tact. Keep hoping it'll make another appearance and someone on the ISS will see it and make record of it.

When i was eight years old, twenty years ago isn't a long time but its long enough where no-one had their own drone tech. Camping with my cousin out behind his house at the lake front, the dot of white moved across the horizon some time during the night and when it was about in the centre of the horizon it dipped down and starting moving in a sideways '8' motion.

If the shield was dropped during installation it would keep moving in the same direction, even at a minimal speed, as there is nothing to stop it moving. This object stayed in exactly the same positions for hours. The analysis is scientific, it's opinion.

You would think with the worlds space scientist they could come up with a way to either use the space station itself or develop a space ship that could some how refuel and dock at the space station as it traveled around and collected that space junk ( litter ) and either destroy it in space so the parts would either disintegrate into nothing or have a large cargo bay and a capture arm to grab stuff store it in the cargo bay and bring back to earth. Its just a matter of time with all the junk we've left behind in space and more countries launching their own rockets and satellites into space its unavoidable that one day either a rocket full of crew will hit something and put the crew at a life or death situation or a piece will eventually hit the space station putting everyone on board at risk.. we humans have already caused so much pollution on earth from littered trash that we'll eventually have space so full of litter we'll never be able to safely travel back and forth anymore. Its the whole worlds responsibility to do what ever must be done to clean the mess we've created in space before its too late

Hmmm.... about a month or so ago I watched the spacewalk being conducted by Nicole Mann and Koichi Wakata on my NASA app called ISS LIVE NOW (NOT YOUTUBE) and what that looks like is the big horizontal bag Koichi Wakata had attached on to his space suit while he and Nicole are doing their repairs. Sometimes its next to him other times its dangling. When he and Nicole were making their return back to the airlock , you could clearly see the bag floating and dangling next to him, of course when he's done the bag is now attached closer to him. As soon as their finished upon return Nicole goes in first then she helped Koichi maneuver the bag back into the airlock and Koichi then made his way in. If you watch THAT particular spacewalk with both of them , their last before they return back home to earth you'll see what am referring to. So I could see how that would be mistaken for something else, particularly when it's hard to see the attachment line.
